I didn't see the game so I can't comment on Moore. I don't think Tomlin deserves so much criticism for being soft on players. Tomlin has always kept a doghouse. Players outside of the core end up there all the time and might as well ask for a release once they do.

Sit Adams who has way more upside than Gilbert and give Gilbert a big contract... Bench any RB who fumbles then punish Bell and Blount for being arrested by playing them... Start Gay over Allen... Use Beachum to protect your franchise QB and apologize for Gilbert after he gives up 4 sacks in 2 games from RT... Start JJ in his rookie year in year 2 he goes down and Moats equals JJs sack total from the year before in half a game only to be replaced by Harrison.

lebeau gets a lot of flak for starting old players but Tomlin had to go get them first. Nice message for the young guys: work your ass off to be "next man up" but when it's your turn to go we are bringing in a 36 year old to take your spot.

I think Tomlin did well, but Lance Moore seems less than thrilled to be here, looks very unhappy to me. He hasn't had much chance to prove himself, but spiking the ball, after a 3rd down pick up doesn't help his chances at seeing the field, but that was a big play in the game.

I think it is too late for Tomlin to right this ship. I WAS a Tomlin Fan from jump street. Soon as I settled down for us not hiring Wiz. I have said I am glad the Rooneys didn't ask me to pick the coach then said I would have picked WIZ and the Rooneys picked the right guy. I now think Tomlin just thinks everything will fall into place with two SB appearances and he is 1-1. He has lost this team and Moore did talk back to him. two years of 8-8 and maybe a third in the works is the reason I changed my mind on him BUT.
Remember I was banned for life on the old board for bad mouthing Cowher. I am still pissed at him for letting Atlanta come back and tie that game/

And now its 3, Tomlin did what he had todo, But if you ask me this team barly one because lack of emotion,.. When we beat the panthers, the players where having fun and we put up points, and made plays on D. l st week when TB got lucky and won, we where having fun and made plays on O, but the refs killed us.. Yesterday we came out with no EMOTION, Flat, UNINSPIRED and played like crap, It just looked like to me the players didnt want to be there. If and when we win nxt week it will because the team, is having fun again..... ....................

I bet the penalty wasn't a big deal.....

MT: Hey Lance, WTF was that?
    LM: A first down Coach
MT: Yeah, nice first down Lance
LM: I knew you were a players coach
MT: Angry screaming about being called a players coach

Is there a third option? I'm glad that Tomlin got vocal and got after someone but I also think that it is hypocritical as well. How can you yell at Moore but not at Brown last week or Bell for not walking away when he was getting taunted by the Bucs? I realize Moore's actions might have been the tipping point but you should try to be the same to all players regardless of how long they have played for you or their veteran status. I normally don't say anything about how Troy plays but his jumping the snap count on play where they spiked it was terrible. I know they could have tried the old fake spike and what not but he should have drawn Tomlin's ire for that as well.

Apples and oranges. One was a dumb penalty. The other was a dumb human.

I'm torn. On one hand, he needs to set Lance straight somehow because we can't be getting penalties like that all the time. On the other hand, Lance was fired up and we just got a 1st down. By Tomlin laying into him, I can't help but wonder if he kind of took away some of the fire that the team seemed to have there. Or maybe it was just Lance that was fired up and not the rest of the team, who knows. We did seem to be completely flat though. I can't help but wonder if that particular moment wasn't the best time to lay into a player who was fired up, especially when we had a bit of momentum going.

I'm a big believer in the fact that not everything is black and white. What is appropriate at one point in the game may not be appropriate at another time. Tomlin needed to make sure Lance corrected his mistake, but did he maybe go about it the wrong way based on the momentum of the game and the fire that Lance was showing? Then again, if it was just Lance that was fired up and not the other guys, then it wouldn't have made a difference either way. We seemed so flat though.

Brown did his before the week of practice and before the refs where brought in...As far as Bell goes he did not draw a flag....

I don't think the message is to have your Team punk down and to be cowards rather to be smart and not cost the Team....So he went to Moore exactly as he should have .

As to the Troy jump over the pile ,I think everyone is looking at that wrong ....Troy knew he was going to spike it thus meaning the QB would pull it back and immediately have the ball in 1 hand ....Also the whole Offense would just stand around so had Troy timed that just a bit better it could have been a huge play...

The announcers didn't think about any of that so for sure Troy knew that situation a lot clearer than they did and as such I am sure Coach T will understand Troy was trying to make a play not trying to hurt the Team ....

I find it very interesting that Moore jawed back at Tomlin. There is a problem somewhere. Moore didn't just pull that out of his hat. Stuff like that brews. May be a certain faction of players not buying into the Tomlin way.

I would like to see that out of MT for all the guys that commit stupid penalties, but he wouldn't be able to talk by games end. LOL

actually I liked the fire moore was showing but he's a vet and needs to keep it under control. the fire I like though to get others fired up in the slow moving lack luster play as a team at the time in that game. control though young man. I don't want MT to take his fire away.

I think Moore has just about had it and you saw that on the sideline. He choose to play for Pittsburgh and by all accounts had established good chemistry with Ben during the OTA's, he is a solid slot receiver and should be on the field. Yes he has had injury setbacks that hampered him at the start but he should be the go to number three not Justin Brown. Now I have nothing against Brown but he is a work in progress and if blocking is the only plus for Brown over Moore then Colbert and the team wasted money signing Moore. Everyone was talking about how do you replace Cotchery and his 10 TD's well you start by signing a veteran slot receiver and you get him the ball.

Precisely. That was a "are you freaking kidding me" moment by Tomlin, not a picking on a lesser important player. They spent all week about avoiding stupid penalties and what does Lance do? He deserved it.

He's pissed about not playing. Tomlin is all about putting in the work, to me this might be saying that Lance isn't a hard worker and just expects to start.

Don't know what made him turn around but he had a little fire to him and then Tomlin leaned into him some more.

I too thought Moore would see the field a lot more than he has. I know they are pretty high on JB, but Moore is just a much better WR than JB at this time. We should be replacing"Cotchery's 10 TD's" with touchdown runs by Bell and Blount in the red zone though. It has nothing to do with either JB or Moore. Heck, for that matter it doesn't have anything to do with Cotch either since he won't score 10 More TD's in his entire career.

All that aside, I liked how Tomlin handled Moore, but still think Moore should see the field at a higher rate...

Wasn't it a 5 yard penalty for delay of game?

You are correct sir! I didn't really have a problem with the way any of it went down because it was just 5 yds and I like to see the emotion sometimes. Tomlin handled it properly as well. Moore has a knack of finding the open spots on the field and even though his blocking isn't as good as JB I think we could really use him more in the red zone ,where we are horrible.

I also think you should treat everyone the same. I saw Phil Jackson say once that you don't coach all players the same and you have to consider who they are and treat them accordingly. He said that was why he always let Rodman just be what he was and he never really criticized Jordan. He did the same thing for Shaq and Kobe. I've always felt like though that the best way to get the worst guys attention is to let him see you holding the best guy accountable. I even have managers at UPS that have flat out told me they don't hold everyone to the same standard. I just think that's weak leadership, personally. However, Phil Jackson is pretty much one of the greatest coaches of ALL sports so I guess he's sorta hard to argue with. I'm just more "old school" I guess.
