My guess: This is what Haley wants to do...but it's not what Ben wants to do.

Not to mention his eyesight is going. I opted to make a change at QB but not permanent . Sitting him for a couple of games would definitely not hurt. How could it actually be worse?

I don't completely agree with you on the Haley v. players thing making this team "undisciplined". I don't know how an NFL coach to player relationship works, but I'd have to imagine it would be similar to the relationship I had with my coach when I played college golf. It is the coaches job to not only improve the player, but to put that certain player in the best position to succeed. As a player, sometimes you realize that something you are practicing or certain things you do during the course of competition aren't working for you (somethings work well for one, but don't work for others). Whenever I recognized something like this happening, I would go to my coach and express my concerns and offer my own personal input as to what I thought would help me improve (and in turn help the team). My coach and I would talk like men, and come to an agreement that we both could live with. These Haley v. players outbursts have led me to believe that the players have voiced their personal concerns/opinions over certain things within his offense that they believe will help them succeed, and have done so more than once. The reactions of the players and other coaches point squarely to the fact that Haley is either unwilling to compromise or even worse, unwilling to listen.

In my opinion, this is the biggest issue that the Steelers have as an organization right now, and just having someone in the position that the players feel like is on their side will relax the collective mood of the players. Who knows how much it will improve the O, but if the players are in a situation where they don't feel tension like this with their OC, they will play better because that's how athletes' minds work.

I apologize, I should have included my vote in the "change" poll in my response... If you couldn't tell from my previous answer, I voted fire Haley. I think this needs to be done pretty much ASAP.

A decision like this is how coaches lose the respect of their players. You do not sit you offensive leader because the O is struggling, or he is playing poorly. This dude is your offensive leader, and a proven top tier QB. The shameful mess our Offense is, by no means is a Ben problem (despite his recent poor play). It might not hurt in terms recent production to sit Ben, but it will completely ruin this team. Especially since the whole thing seems pretty unstable as it is...
