How bout letting Tomlin actually choose his coordinators though...Yeah he hired HAley, but you know the Rooney's forced that hand, they also told Tomlin he had to keep Lebeau.

Tomlin has been neutered from the get go. Lets see what Kirby Wilson (Tomlin's guy) got, and let Tomlin choose his own D Coordinator for once.

Where has Kirby Wilson been an OC at before?

Any thoughts as to whose Tomlin's candidates for DC might be?

Personally, I think seeing Lane Kiffin (as OC) and Big Ben working together would be a real hoot.:roflmao:

Dude I'm from Knoxville and I can PROMISE you that would NOT be a hoot! Lane Kiffin is one of the biggest jokes ever! Not only is he a joke but he is also a punchline! LOL.

I've always felt that we've never seen the true Tomlin from a scheme perspective really. However he did promote BA to OC and maybe that is the ideal offense in his mind. Pass first. Pass second. Pass third. Pass forth. Pass fifth. Pass on the run and just pass. YES I KNOW THAT WE RAN IT SOMETIMES WITH BA AND THAT WAS JUST A LITTLE JEST before all the feathers get ruffled. LOL.

I think the Rooney's will after the season, sit down and study their football team from top to bottom, I believe they will make changes in the way they do business(they have to)now it may not be to me liking, but I have faith in them somewhat. I have watched the Steelers since 1968, I have seen the good and the bad.I believe Dan and Art II will put a product on the field that we all can be proud of.These last 2.5 years
have been very difficult to watch.

The situation is no different now than before. Professional football is a business always was and always will be.

At the end of the season the Rooneys will ask Tomlin what plans for coaching changes he has in mind and who his candidates might be. Tomlin better have some mighty damn good answers, and IMO he'd be a hell of lot better off if those answers do not include Kiffin or Wilson for OC. :smiley1:

It is different because this isn't Art Sr. and deals aren't made with a handshake and a promise anymore. It isn't one guy owning the team and making the decisions based solely on what he wants to do. The days of Mara, Hunt, Rooney, Davis and the like are replaced by new breed owners like Jerry Jones, Daniel Snyder and Ziggy Wilf. Last I heard ownership of the Steelers is spread out over several Rooney family members with Dan's branch having barely controlling interest as well as some minor shares by other individuals. So while Dan and Art II might want to give Tomlin time to right the ship because that is the way the Chief did things, they may not have that luxury because other family members may force the issue if they think the profitability of the team is being harmed.

They are majority owners though, which means they have the controlling stake. Others may express what they want, but I don't believe they have any more influence than that.
