Those two things go hand in hand.

There are a lot of posts saying you can get RB's anywhere, well evidently we are looking the other direction. I can see the OL (whether age or scheme) ir not getting the job done, also the running plays called are 3rd rate at best, but 20 something yards on 14 carries just won't cut it. Brady possibly did not have superstar backs, but they got the job done. From the hand off to the line everything seems slow compared to when I watch other teams, because we have no real running it eliminates play action. The 'our short passes is out running game' obviously is not working by the many 3 and outs we are having. Remember when we used to cringe on 3trd and short and Ben would loft the long ball? Now I just want him to pass it 3 yards to the stick instead of 1 yard and seeing a LB making contact immediately.

Well they had 10 days to prepare, but still no excuses. Bad ref call did not lose this for us, you need to score more than 3 pts in a half of football, and that we did not do.

It all goes back to what they were willing to do. Tomlin can talk all day about confidence in the kicker but when it came down to it he wouldn't try for the field goal.

We can all debate the prep time Washington had vs what Pittsburgh had and its crap. All the days they didn't hold practice for a Baltimore team they are very familiar with could have been used on Washington a team they also know pretty well since Ron Rivera was Carolina's coach for years and the simple truth is they crapped the bed.

I don’t think you can read anything into that. He made similar decisions with Bos.

If he didn’t have confidence in Wright, he wouldn’t have brought him up, Steelers would have signed a kicker off the street.

Don't you think he would have sent Boswell in to try that FG last night? I do.

Hard to say, he’s made a couple of head scratching decisions this year prior to yesterday on FG’s.

If Ben is only throwing 5 yard passes, then opposing defenses only need to stack the box for a run (just in case), then it they are right there for the quick out pass plays. If Ben could throw downfield with any accuracy, then it would open up the quick routes as well as the run.

It doesn't help that when they run from the spread formation that the WR's aren't selling pass so if the defense is pressing them with a single high safety that is almost everyone at or with in five yards of the LOS . So when they immediately begin to block with the snap of the ball there is no room to run. If they start running routes it will force the defense to choose and open it up more. However those spread formations also force more dime and nickel coverage where the opposing players are quicker.

They are 23rd in the nfl in rushing attempts. Yet have the number 1 offense in the nfl. What does that tell you?

Steelers have had probably the easiest schedule by far this yr. Its a reason even when the steelers were undefeated literally every credible person had the chiefs still ranked as the best team in the nfl. And chiefs are number 1 in offense yet ranked 23rd in rushing attempts. Yeah the run is why their offense is so potent lol.

Other than maybe Claypool who is really this legit down field deep threat that ben can go to? I don't see hopkins, Diggs, tyreek, evans, adams, etc.. players of that caliber on this roster.

Thsts my point on why I dont see this team as a sb contender. The defense when healthy is sb caliber but the offense is bottom nfl in talent and Ben aint capable of doing but so much. Hes always had elite talent around him when he won.

Canada's motion offense must be too complicated for Ben & his offense.

I never said the run was why their offense was so potent but it’s not as absent from their game as it is the Steelers. Ravens ran for more yards last night against Dallas than the Steelers have in the last 5 games.

Steelers are the better team if they get some players back on defense otherwise they won’t win.

Obviously Alex Smith pulled a fast one, And the Refs allowed it...He knew exactly what he was doing and figured, WTH it's worth a shot, and the Dum Dums got snookered...

Would have been so easy to rectify...Mr Referee gets on his lil microphone thingy that transmits sound and says, quite bluntly....

" The Potatoes willingly tired to tote the pigskin out of bounds, rendering it useless... Therefore by the power vested in me...The Potatoes are stripped of a FG attempt, and will be told to go to the Lockeroom in shame...No FG for you "!

I do not doubt that. If they get that far (SB) anything can happen, the Manning Broncs are that example. Good D and just enough O to get the job done. Doing that 2-3 games in a PO run is a different matter, can happen but almost every phase of th game has to be other wise perfect. No Turn overs while getting them, high quality sp team play with field position, few penalties, and high 3rd down conversion rate.

Bottom of the NFL in talent may be an overstatement... we have an inconsistent offense that has to scheme and execute correctly, and against the Ravens and Washington didn’t at all.

    Slightly.

DJ (33), Claypool (41), and JuJu (49) all rank top 50 receiving

    Conner ranks 15 among RB’s

    Ebron ranks 14th among TE’s

    Ben rank’s 15th among QB’s

Edit: To expand on this, Chiefs have one receiver in top 50, Hill. Only one other team, Dallas has 3 receivers in top 50 quite a few don’t even have 2 WR’s top 50.

But yeah, Steelers are lacking talent
