They were also clamoring how the Ravens exposed some things.

When you pass on every down, it’s not hard to crack the code.

    https://steelersdepot.com/2020/12/w...elers-tendencies-leading-to-game-sealing-int/

This says it all.We must adjust our route trees and we must use differnt packages and sets..OC if you read this board go to the diamond and 1 formation .Use the WR screen game meaning the Wide screen the tunnel screen the middle screen and the motion screen to the single side..This will give you 4 more running plays .. Use your Big guys in front and use Ray Ray as your screen WR..
Then use the wheel to help the WR'S make blocks and keep the DB'S from pressing.Swith up the Single WR to force mis matches . Run slants from the Diamond and the Single side..Run the Jet sweep from both sides run the fake Jet Sweep passing game from both sides..

I swear I could take this Offense and put up 40 on a regular basis ..

One code that has been cracked by defenses is knocking Ben's passes down. Defenders at the line barely engage, they jump instead.

I don’t recall Brady having so many passes knocked down but I also don’t watch NE as much as the Steelers.

There has to be a reason, plenty of teams use a quick passing attack.

Predictability maybe, like your original post eluded to.
I was recently looking for an article I read back when this first became an issue but I couldn't find it. The article (basically) blamed it on Ben's repaired elbow changing his release point on short, quick passes. I don't know if that's the case or not. Ben doesn't pump fake much anymore either, like he use to.

That's not anything new. ... Washington's defense just had the horses to exploit that knowledge...... They were clueless when we threw down field, which begs the question, why did we stop

I saw alot of pump fakes yesterday.

Ive said it several times. If we dont have the drops we had then its a different game completely yesterday. That and the redzone problems.

The Steelers offense is no runs and all passing within 5 yards of the LOS. It doesn't take Spygate to figure that out. Crowd the zone, hands up. That's all you gotta do.

Ben use to sell his pump fakes to the point where the camera would try to track the ball downfield but it would still be in his hand. Now it's more like he's going through the motions. (imo)

Washington knew what the Steelers were doing, does that surprise anyone really!

The offense has been ridiculously predictable for most of the season.

Three games in 12 days did not allow Fictner to unleash his true genius, should of put that in green.

The condensed schedule does not allow time to make any significant changes.

Ben cannot throw the deep ball well enough to scare anyone I think his completion rate is 22%, that and the fact our running game is non existent.

Why would any team not play 8 in the box against this offense.

Until the Steelers change and force the defense to back off they will see exactly the same thing the rest of the year and for one playoff game.

Brady still released the ball over the top and their offense was much more complicated or at least it kept teams guessing more than what the Steelers are doing.
Plenty of teams use a quick passing attack but also have a running game and probably don't go with empty sets half the time.

That's what happens when you have 12 days to prepare. NFL ruined the Steelers season.

I texted my buddy in 3rd quarter last night that we needed to pump fake to 90's side and tell lineman to cut his legs when he jumped and land him on his head once. Might be throwing away a play on 1st down, but we're pretty good at doing that anyway. How many passes did we complete last night for zero or negative yardage?

We have been saying for awhile now that our offense is so predicable, now opposing players are also saying it.

The play calling, the scheme, the entire philosophy(if there is one) has become too predictable.
I'd love to see the Steelers start a drive by running the ball (from under center, ideally) on 3 straight downs, even for no gain.

There was a hb pass along the goalline that Benny bobbled and wasn't going anywhere with that had Watt and Mac bocking on the right side. Both were ignored and not really engaged, the defense was keyed on Snell.

The were other times when the Steelers tried a little misdirection and threw a screen where Washington went right for the screen ignoring everything else. They had this team scouted and scouted well. They would have been better served playing school yard ball.

I'd like to see the running back hit the hole the play was designed to create instead of Chuks crumbling like the Berlin wall, Decastro unable to turn his man and seal the inside, Amy Ranger turned political advocate AV not get driven backwards into the QB and Fieler the strongest man on the line standing there with his finger in his butt wondering if he should help dbl team or move to the second level and block a LB who already blitzed past him. Some how I dont think it will happen but I can dream.

The offense has been predictable the last two weeks for sure. I wonder how much of that is from a lack of practice? Tomlin himself said over the weekend that their wasn't sufficient time to scheme Washington. Up until the last couple weeks we had shown some creativity on offense that we hadn't seen around here for a while. I think some things will change this week. If we still look terrible against the Bills Sunday night then I'll be concerned.

The run game is in such disrepair, I was thinking baby steps.

Chiefs pass on nearly every down. Their qb up until the sb was their leading rusher for the playoffs.

Chiefs have a deep threat they connect with on a consistent basis. That is what I hate about chucking it to Claypool deep, if we don't connect it isn't really helping us, even if you do get a penalty once in awhile.

Chiefs also have a TE who WORKS THE MIDDLE OF THE FIELD, which we do not.

    WTF@WFT!!!!!! LOL!

Chiefs do a much better job mixing the run in then the Steelers do. Steelers were making an effort to run in the beginning of the season, not so much now.

The last two games the Steelers have been extremely one sided in their game plan and it shows.

Also, Steelers have the largest margin of victory, even over the awe inspiring mighty Chiefs so I’m not sure what your point is. Both are 11-1 and Steelers win more convincingly.
