Yeah. If it is indeed adderol, then this sounds like some trumped up BS. Roids or HGH and such is easier to accept a suspension for, but something to control ADD? I would hope that an appeal with a good lawyer should help get out of it. If this is true, then I retract my comment about cheating. Lets hope this can get straightened out.

I doubt he gets his suspension reduced there has been a precedent set by a WR on the Rams ,the name escapes me at the moment ,but he made the same mistake and paid the price.

What is the NFL's goal here? If he has ADD, are they saying he should just stay off his meds and stare at hummingbirds during walk-throughs? Or will they let him take them with a doctor's note, and he just didn't turn in the note? Are they really handing out a 4 game suspension just for not seeking the appropriate clearance? That sounds like an infraction, not an attempt to cheat at anything. Like driving with insurance, but without proof of insurance on you. I had to pay 50 bones for that, but they didn't suspend my license for 4 weeks.

I'm guessing it's the principle. He forgets to declare it, appeals the ban, gets let off... so maybe then other players "forget" to mention their medication, and take to the field with it.

It reminds me of that Romanian gymnast who hadthe Olympic gold taken away because they took some cold relief the night before, or something. In the war against performance enhancers, they're the innocent casualties, I guess.

Having said this - I think my explanation is still not convincing. There's either a) more to this than meets the eye or b) it's a complete overreaction.

Ok goodell could find himself in a real mess here. If he has been diagnosed with ADD and not using it recreationaly. ADD is part of the aericans with disability act so if saunders wants to he can take this all the way to the supreme court and goodell and the nfl could get fined heavily

He must have been OFF his adderall the day they had the meeting telling everyone to report ALL medication BEFORE ingesting ;) Seriously though, it sucks if that's all it was but as mentioned in a previous post team trainers and the med staff hammer the importance of this over and over and over again. If they didn't you'd see suspensions being handed out all over the place for legitimate meds and that's not happening.

Well in over 30 years of marriage my wife has called me an Ahole and a moron numerous times. There was a time when I found this to be very offensive and insulting but over the years I've learned to deal with her lack of sensitivity and no longer find these remarks offensive so you can thank her that I'm not totally p i s s e d at you right now :hehehe:

There are guidelines you have to follow to get clearance for Adderall since it is considered a masking agent for performance enhancing drugs. Adderall is a banned substance by the NFL because of that (unless you have clearance).

IMO It will be hard for him to get it reduced if he didn't follow them correctly.

Actually, you associated his post with Autism not him. I would have never made any jump to "He's calling Goodell autistic". Retardation is a term that is used to describe certain mental capacity disorders, "Not" including Autism.

Thanks for subjecting us to the Euphemism Trail!
