Yep, though IIRC, those rules are specific to poaching from another team's PS, not promoting from your own.

Yup they have to be signed to 53 man and they must count for 3 weeks even if released. Congrats to him for getting a shot though!

Another example of the front office ineptitude we've seen all too much recently. Are you telling me someone already on the 53 could not provide what Ventrone gave us Sunday?

I mean normally I would say, "eh low pick. Probably didn't have a clear future as a starter on this team, who cares", but if a guy like Mike Munchak fought to keep this guy on the roster, and not let him go... I think that has to say something about his potential right?

I mean god bless Ventrone, but he is hanging on by a thread in the NFL.

He wasn't on the PS, was he? I thought he was on our 53 and was inactive every game this year.

I had a feeling that he'd be claimed but I thought it would be the Pats. I got the wrong AFC East team.

You are correct, they needed a spot on the 53 so they put the OL that they didn't want to try and sneak to the PS after camp for fear of losing him out there instead of the 3rd string QB that's never been active and no teams are out there looking for QB's right now either.....

I'm Irate! There was little chance of him clearing waivers and there are others that should have been the sacramental lamb.

This is the kind of move we've been making for a few years now that make it harder and harder to climb out of 8-8 seasons. We actually get an OL with potential and we essentially kick him to the curb.

I agree with Lizard, if we needed a spot on our roster for a 1-week Special teamer fill in, then waive Jones. Terrible decision.

Stupid stupid move. I can't believe some of the decisions that come from this team now.

So who actually makes that decision? I would think the coach vice the FO?

IDoesn't the coach decide what players he needs on gameday? I would find it a bit hard to believe the FO would dictate putting Vetrone on the Rroster.

At least we still have Landry Jones. :dancing:

But seriously, I'm going to refrain from spazzing out because I have no idea if he'll ever amount to anything. But if he does, I will spaz.
