I still wouldn't count out Will Howard for 2026. Unless LaNorris and/or Dante Moore declare, Pittsburgh isn't getting a Signal Caller in Round One. Now, Rounds 2 or 3 is a much more interesting talking point. That said, Pittsburgh has way too many holes along with way too many upcoming players in contract years; OT, CB and WR especially.

Do not forget that Issac Seumalo isn't what he used to be and Jalen Ramsey isn't getting any younger. Of those two, IOL is going to be an early pick as well. IDL shouldn't be left off this list either unless Keeanu Benton goes on a tear for the rest of this season and convinces the Steelers to extend him.

Quite a bit of Roster Overhaul still. This does give Will one year to prove himself. Here is hoping he can.

I'm so tired of Steelers fans going on and on about Will Howard, the team is trying to win the division but let's play a sixth-round rookie QB who hasn't thrown a pass in the NFL .

While I agree that the Steelers focus should be on making the post season, it is very much in their best interest to find out if they have anything at all in Howard for the future. Regardless if he's a 6th round pick. How they choose to do that is the tricky part.

Oh well, you find out what you have in Howard in the offseason. They're going to bring in more young competition anyway in 2026.

But wait, didn't you make the comment he hadn't thrown an NFL pass? So you want to use the offseason to evaluate him and go into next season with a sixth round pick who's never thrown an NFL pass potentially starting? All I am saying is that if they have an opportunity in a game to get him some snaps, I don't have an issue with it. In certain situations they might be able to evaluate how he reacts to the speed of the game so it's not new to him going into next season.

Only if it's for a play they want the QB to run other than that I have no interest in seeing Howard throw a pass this season unless the game is a blowout.

Exactly. Which is why I said if they get an opportunity to get him some snaps in a game. Generally a blowout in either direction.

The Steelers are trying to win the division. You do not just throw a rookie in to see what he has when you are trying to win the division. The Steelers need to be playing whichever QB is playing the best RIGHT NOW not in the future. The only way Howard should be playing is if RIGHT NOW he is actually better than Rodgers and Rudolph. I trust the Steelers know what they have in Howard based on what they see in practice every day.
