They can still draft a good route running receiver.

What makes you think they won't still draft a WR within the first two rounds.

Not sure what sense it makes to bag on Pittman's 10.8 YPR when our offense had a whopping 3.7 CAY/C and 6.0 IAY/C last year.

Metcalf is the separator. Pittman is the in-traffic/contested catch receiver.

Plus whomever they go after in the draft.

They'll have to now because this move does next to nothing, for a team that lacks any kind of explosion, we signed a WR with a career 10.8 yards a pop avg, and lost out best playmaker.

Still waiting for that RB you're signing to replicate what Gainwell gave us last year.

    Metcalf is not a seperator.

Steelers need a WR with quicks if Rodgers is throwing the ball in 2 seconds. Pittman isn't an ankle breaker, nor speed freak. What he is is a big target. MM loves the bigs in the WR room.

We have needed this for years, but we've just traded for the antithesis of that.

Better than what we had, good depth, not all that we need.

Metcalf did average 14.4 YPC and that's with drawing double coverage and no other good WRs.

Acquiring MPJ doesn't forbid the team from doing so. Just covets their bases a bit. It does mean that a WR in Round One is likely off the table.

Fair enough but they have 12 draft picks they can find a route runner.

My God Steeler's fans are some of the biggest clowns on the planet. At the trade deadline last season any one of us would have given our left nut for a receiver of Pittman's caliber. *In typical Steeler fan whiny voice* - "But he's not flashy", "he doesn't get separation", blah, blah, blah. He caught 80 balls last season and has 2 previous 1,000 yrd seasons. He must be getting open somehow. This immediately upgrades our poor receiving corps. With Metcalf, Washington and now Pittman we have a solid core. Add in Freiermuth and Gainwell out of the backfield and we've got something. We don't need a 1st rounder stud. 3 or 4th round burner makes us, dare I say, possibly dangerous if we have someone to throw them the ball.

Sometimes I get so frustrated I hope we trade for Anthony Richardson just because we deserve it for having the most unappreciative fanbase in the whole league.

Well, he's signed for less than $20mil/yr at 3 year $59mil. Like this move. Still need one in the draft (maybe two), so I wouldn't shy away from anything. Maybe a slot WR like Cooper Jr. or Concepcion is on their minds? We're still drafting a WR guaranteed before Day 2 is over.

He produced what he pretty much always has... He's been good for 950-1100 yards and about 7-8 TD's over 17 games his whole career. He got 850 yards and 6TD in 15 games, which if he had his average over the last two weeks, thats 950+ yards and if he caught a TD then its 7TD's. He was right on par (albeit on the lower end) despite being the lone capable WR on the team. We finished the season with a WR2 and WR3 that were cut mid-season from their respective teams. You can say you were underwhelmed with the offense, but if you were looking for 1,500 yards and 12 TD's you were never going to be happy.

Just googled it 4 years $70m which sounds about right?

I like the Pittman signing but I hope they draft a WR on day 2 as well
