Read t was for a late round pick swap, so cost isn't excessive.

Probably the most predictable signing ever. Post - peak but pre-twilight possession WR who could raise his value.

Sounds like I'm ****ting on it but this is.. good. Not crazy but very good for this team where it is now.

I just hope that it doesnt stop them from taking one of these young studs in the draft if they happen to fall.

Be interesting to see what Doubs gets on the open market. Same for Jennings.

Pittman has only been in the NFL for 6 seasons. He's in his prime right now. He's only 28.

Here are his career stats: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/P/PittMi01.htm

    Really?

Who predicted the Steelers trading for a WR under contract with another team on day one of FA?

Should bet that one. Would've won some cash.

I like Pittman, but not at nearly $30 mil/yr....
With Pittman and DK in town, we can forget about those high rd wr's in the draft

Pittman's injury history isn't very good... at all.

That said, this still doesn't forbid Pittsburgh from acquiring more talent in Free Agency. Romeo Doubs is still someone I wouldn't mind nabbing personally.

As for Pittman, he is basically a big bodied possession receiver. He can beat press but given his recent string of injuries, not as well as he used to. Separation has always been his problem and now due to those injuries, it is likely worse. His hands though are still very good and size like that is still something not many have; possession or not.

Overall, I would give this trade a C+.

He hasnt really missed any time. Played through a fracture in his lower back in 2024. Left the game due to a calf injury in week 17 last season. Other than that just seems to be typical crap every nfl player goes through.

Unfortunately, I agree about the APY but that is simply the way of how WR Contracts go anymore. Not a fan of it myself but with the league constantly increasing the salary cap, players will want to get paid even more. Pittman Jr's Contract is nothing more than a reflection of it.

If not Cornerback for Round One (a trade up for Mansoor Delane included), I would have to wonder either Offensive Tackle, Interior Defensive Lineman or trade up for Caleb Downs. Beyond those three positions, I don't see many other positions the team will attack on Opening Night.

I like it as well. However, I still think they should pick up another WR in the draft.

I agree that's a little more than I would want to pay for him. I just wanted to clarify the amount of the contract.

I doubt that as now is the time to add him and balance the room..A top WR draft pick will be cheaper than Pittman ,we still need another WR who can play at a high level early and often..

Trading some picks to move up and get 1 will also save on overall Cap money..

Math is a cast iron SOB.

Here is the 2025 WR contracts: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/contracts/_/year/2025/position/wr

I would argue that Pitman is better than Rashod Bateman. So he has to get north of $12 million. You can make a reasonable argument that he is better than Shakir. So now you are north of $13 million and change.

Pittman's agents can make a numbers based case that he has performed better than Jakobi Meyers. Now you are at $20 million.

At this point in their respective careers...Pittman is better than Kupp. Based SOLELY on numbers, Pitman had a better year than DJ Moore and Alec Pierce. Both got paid more than him.

Can go on and on. We can debate how good Pittman actually is...but the ever increasing silly spiral of NFL contracts says this is just about where Pittman slots in.

That sucks, but it was probably a long shot for him to stay after they signed Samuel.

If they signed Doubs in free agency he wouldn't come cheap either, fans complain when the team doesn't address WR2 then when they spend money they complain .
