Actually, me too! If he's another Ike Taylor I'd be thrilled.
Even as a CB if you have hands of stone, that could be corrected if that player is willing to practice at getting better. Judging by his YouTube highlights, I like the way Layne locates the ball then swats it away. Swatting is good but why not catch it for an interception??
Well, swatting is at least a contested catch. Something our current crop of CBs rarely do.
Difference is the round selected. Burns will be fighting for a spot as he should be. What a major disappointment. Another 1st round bust.
The whole development thing is concerning, just because the STeelers have been striking out in that department. I like the pick and hope they do a better job developing corners.
:32 fits right in lol
Very mature. Looking forward to seeing him in Training Camp! Hope he pushes hard so that he can be called upon should the worst happen to Joe or Steve.
You guys obviously don't watch college football, if you think Snell is a disappointing 4th round pick.
I’m disappointed in the position taken not the player. Just like last year’s draft. I wanted to see the team take defensive players with the early picks.
Layne and his family “were” Browns fans:
you know... I have told myself if I were to be an NFL qb and lets say got drafted by an NFC team and were playing the Steelers in a SB... let's just say I would be their Neil O'donnel lol.
is that bad? lol
I hope Layne works out for the Steelers. It seems like every CB Steelers have drafted over the past 10 years besides Keenan Lewis has been a disappointment.
I hope Layne gets a chance to play some as a rookie, he could make Haden expendable for 2020. If only our DB coaches can develop some talent in the secondary , Layne had 27 PBU in college.
There's not a situation possible for me to divorce the Steelers. Being from Chicago & cheering the Bears ..I bleed Black & Gold forever
Here is hoping Terryl Austin can assist with that. Same goes for Bradley. Another year in the NFL should help.
Would be nice if Brian Allen and layne work out. Two big corners. Can Austin and Bradley do the job. This would be Allen's 3rd db coach in 3 seasons. Maybe the failed corner mantra can turn around with these coaches finally. Could make a transition from haden very easy after next year if the money isn't right.
Hey ya never know.
