450+ passes this year against the best DEs and OLBs college football has to offer. 0 sacks given up. 2 qb hits. 0 holding penalties. Yup, pass protection sucks.

I think going against Watt and Highsmith in camp is only going to make him better in pass protection. Plus he has all that experience in the SEC.

I agree, but is it just dumb luck that he's still there, or is he not as good as we believed? Cause, honestly, we don't know jack. :roflmao:

But, he seems like a promising gamble.

I never said it sucks. I said it’s not ready for prime-time.

I could be wrong, but I think he will struggle with NFL power rushers initially until it gets cleaned up.

I’m assuming you’re trying to stir up an argument so I will reiterate: I like the pick.

"Moore is not a bum", what some fail to see the guy does have talent, its just not what they need a LT. He has 2 years left on his contract, does he show enough that he can adjust to the right side??? I have no idea, just that it is not throw away the kid without fully exposing him to every option available.

This exactly. If they trade down or just don’t select Porter at this point, we’ll know know they don’t think of him as highly as we do. They know way more than me so I will assume it is the right move.

Agreed. I really though he would be gone by 20ish. According to articles.

But yeah, I might know Jack.

Its always a gamble. JPJ is worthy of that pick, but he has (fixable) issues as well. If they really want him they can have him, if they have near equal value on several other players, can get another (or more picks) and move down with the confidence they can improve the team then you have to at least look at that gamble. The good thing is this is not a 5 or 10 minute decision. They have all day to field offers and evaluate what is best.

Hopefully they do. Khan has already been fielding calls from 4 teams reported on 93.7 The Fan. Don't be surprised when the Steelers are on the clock you hear out of that mouth breather they have traded the pick.

I personally am not as highed up on Porter as some are.

If they went that way, what am I gonna do? Cry? No, the guy's a dog. Is he my favorite guy? No, but I wouldn't cry.

ummmmm - well, yeah, except they were here LAST year, the comment really was about the Rats draft pick, yes? There will never be a passing threat with the Rats as long as Lamar is QB

Crawford won an Oscar for his portrayal of corrupt politician Wille Stark in "All the Kings Men". It was based on Huey Long from Louisiana.

    Me too!

But at the end of my post I said there were at least 3 likely reasons why those 3 ot's were taken
    before BJ.

    1. This was made clear on page 2 by blackandgoldpatrol.

    2. I left mine blank but I figured the FO did not think there was any chance BJ would be around at 17. From draftcountdown.com Top 100

    8 Broderick Jones Georgia 3 6-5 311
10 OT Paris Johnson Jr. Ohio State 3 6-6 313
    11 CB Devon Witherspoon Illinois 4 5-11 181
    12 EDGE Nolan Smith Georgia 4 6-2 238
13 iOL Peter Skoronski Northwestern 3 6-4 From DCD OL rankings

    1 Broderick Jones Georgia
2 Paris Johnson Jr. Ohio State
    3 Darnell Wright Tennessee

Not sure what iOL is but Skoronski is listed there and very high.

    3 I guess 3 is still open.

But I was positive BJ was ranked much higher before yesterday. Hmm! I guess we all become
experts after the fact. Live and learn. Next time I will print there big board prior to the draft.

I saw this movie many [too many] years ago.

Everyone in the theater was standing up and shouting " We want Willie" We want Willie"

I don't think I got caught up in it, but it was really something.

Welcome Broderick (Lithonia High)! I didn't get to see him play much until he got to UGA but my high schools are right down the streets from his (Stephenson and Redan).

I'm a Gamecock too, and he played well for the DAWGS. I think he will be an asset for The Steelers for a long time.
