Really like this pick. I didn't think Tuitt would still be on the board. Filled a need at a good value.

He looks slow and fat. I hope this guy works out for us.

    Enlighten me... Who is he?
    I have tunnel vision.
If he ain`t a Buckeye, or making crazy highlight reeels, I don`t know many college players.
Tell me bout him, Steeler Nation...
    Gonna make Keisel expendable?
Even as a role-player off the bench?
No complaints, because we do need defensive ends. Just Not familiar with this player...
Concensus is...we did good? Should have got a CB?...
    What say you?

I'm not as excited about the Tuitt pick. He got a hernia before the 2013 season, then packed on weight, and then suffered a foot fracture that kept him from working out before the draft.

That's a whole lot of bad strung together.

If he's as big as people are saying, then he is a "round tuit."

Great pick. He was an absolute beast in 2012. Got a hernia in 2013 and gained 20 lbs because he couldn't work out but still played all year. After the season he shed the weight and at his pro day weighed the same as he did in 2012 when he tore it up. He was a big reason Manti Teo was an All-American. Benched 225 lbs 30 times and has 35" arms. He's the prototype Steeler 5-technique.

Agree completely. One of the biggest concerns to me in this draft was that the team would reach for a DE out of need, and one of the best ones fell into their lap. I dig it.

Yeah, I was thinking we would have to settle for a developmental-type DE like Urban if we were lucky. Tuitt will actually log some defensive snaps this season.

I would predict that they will both be starting from Day 1. I would think Tuitt should be able to beat out Thomas in camp. If he doesn't well, he will still see a good amount of rotation snaps.

Tuitt does have alot of bad 2013 tape, no doubt about it. Then again, so does Jadeveon Clowney. As a sophmore, Tuitt was an absolute beast and had he been able to come out after that season probably would have been a Top 15 pick. Whether it was self-preservation, but just the entire Irish defense looking bad in 2013, Tuitt didn't look right at as a Junior. There were injuries no doubt.

Get this guy motivated and you have a beast that is going to help shut down the run, let Jason Worilds make alot of plays and chip in with some QB pressures.

He's a beast. Word is he was down 30 lbs which is close to his best year playing wgt. Hope he can stay healthy

I like this pick, this is a big DE with the strength to pancake OTs, hope he picks up on technique and gets the schemes and verbiage down pat quickly...........

Yeah, I like this pick far better than I ever liked the Ziggy Hood pick. Hood was a sexy pick because he was supposed to be a great pass rusher, but he was never a fit for our system.

I doubt that happens simply because you'd have 2 rookies playing next to a 1 year vet. I suspect that Shazier starts if he can pick up our defense quickly, and Tuitt gives Thomas and Heyward a blow.

Just watched a little of the 'Bama-Irish title game. In the first quarter, only ONCE did Bama run it to Tuitt's side. Generally, Tuitt was playing LDE lined up against DJ Fluker. Bama pounded the ball to their left side behind Kouandjio & Warmack. On one occasions, Tuitt flipped around and was lined up at RDE. Bama ran it to that side but Tuitt beat Kouandjio clean and forced Lacy back inside where Nix was waiting to make the tackle.

For me this is the best tape to evaluate Tuitt as a run stuffer as he played the majority of the game against Fluker, a 1st round pick, and the Bama o-line as a whole, who may have been one of the best o-lines in college history. Unfortunately, Bama didn't offer much opportunity to let Tuitt shine.

Sounds like we got a good D.E. ...
Good enough to let Keisel find greener pastures?
Think someone else will offer Brett too much for us to keep, now that we have Tuitt?
LeBeau sounds confident, that both Shazier, and Tuitt, have a chance to start.
Is he Bull****tin? Or are they both that good?(Yeah, we don`t have the depth we used to, but do you really believe him?)
I`m on record saying I would like to hang onto Keisel for this year, but, I wouldn`t pay much more than vet minimum.
Think we offer him that, or 250,000 more to stick around?
And would he take it, in your opinion?
    GO STEELERS!

No sir, he's not. I'd say the odds are very good that they both will have significant playing time this year. Barring something bizarre happening, the drafting of Tuitt killed any hope of Keisel returning IMO.

Injured and out of shape. It can happen to anyone. He's now back on track. I expect him to push for the starting job immediately, and be starting by week 4.

As bad as I still feel about our CB position, I feel much better than I thought I would about our DL. I thought we'd get a mid-round project guy, and limp along with Cam Thomas. I feel like we got a 1st rounder without having to spend a 1st round pick on it. Also, I'm expecting an upgrade over Ziggy in terms of pass rush. Very excited about him!

I agree. Plenty of depth at DE now with Heyward, Tuitt, Arnfelt, Williams, and don't forget Mauro.
