We could definitely use an upgrade at punter. It’s awesome if he works out and just another long shot 7th rounder pick if he doesn’t.

At 255 maybe Tomlin is going to add some tricks. Do a fake punt at their 1 yard line. He's the new short yardage guy.

WTF are we doing? I guess we are set in all other positions? This is like our long snapper bungled pick a few yrs ago. God. Couldn't get as an UFA? What's the waste, fraud, and abuse number to call?

Yes, finally we go after a top Punter!!!

This year is going to be all about playing defense and winning the battle for field position.

I don’t see this as too big of a deal. It was a 7th round pick. If it works out, it also addresses a weakness.

This is my first post in about a year but I had to comment on this punter. 49% of his punts were over 50 yards ( he averaged 49.5 yards). 47% of his punts were fair caught and only 17% of his punts were returned. Of course we have to see how he can punt in Pittsburgh in December, that is a lot different than punting in Georgia in October. Kudos to him though for being the first african american to win the Ray Guy Award and it was a unanimous selection.

Given the fact that he was universally graded out as the second best punter in the class, he got drafted right where he should have. Some sites had him going late 5th or early 6th. Really good value here.

Ok, now you are acting foolish. It was late 7th round. All of 5 people were picked after him. Whatever Jablonski we would have drafted is still available now. And we potentially got a good punter and don’t have to compete with 31 other potential teams to sign him as an UDFA. This was a good move.

Maybe Steel Hog is a big Jablonski fan and is just frustrated that we passed on him

Little known fact....Very much like Elvis Presely... Pressley Harvin III also enjoys fried peanut butter, banana, and bacon sandwiches.

remember when we drafted Sepulvada? He thought he was a stud LB candidate and made some splash tackles. Injured himself right out of the league.

If he punts like he did in college I can see a Primanti Brothers endorsement deal coming.

You mean Janikowski? He was a PK, no?

If this kid consistently pins the other team and affords us quality field position, what's not to like?

Just didn't think we'd draft another ST player since the last one was a bust and I don't recall seeing any posts on this board advocating a punter be one of our draft picks. If there was, I missed them. I was under the impression that there was greater positional needs and still some talent out there that could at least add depth. JMO

They have struggled to find an upgrade to Berry for a few years now. If the bottom of the 7th round is what it takes then so be it.
