Whats the field gona be like Sunday/ and weather rain, snow, cold,???

thats too bad I was thinking bad weather would play into our favor

 

Wasn't that a game to remember

 

I was at that game!!! That moment sticks out like a sore thumb to me. That and the moment where Joey Porter picked off Ben in his first game against the Steelers.

 

I have NEVER IN MY LIFE seen it rain as hard as it was raining that night. They even made us go out of the stands and stand undercover because they thought we were gonna get struck by lightning. The field was like a swamp. Remember how after this game everyone was talking about how the Steelers have the worst field in the league and how they don't take care of it and all that. But that weekend they had a high school game, a Panthers game, AND this MNF game. They had the grounds crew running on the field all night and trying to put the sod back in. I guess it was pretty much as old school as you could get though ya know?LOL.

 

Does anyone remember what year this game was played?

That was when they laid the sod over the existing sod and just stapled/stitched? it in in the hopes it would set-up roots in the existing field by the game and then that storm rolled through and unleashed hell on the drainage system. I saw the grounds crew pitchforking it to try and get it drained.

Didn't the field have a hybrid surface that year anyway?

There was a whole debate on what type of field and the heating draining of the field.
