I thought we were going to have a dominant offensive line at least in the interior.

I thought this was the year our running game was going to take off?

I thought Pickett was going to take the second year leap?

I thought we had an abundance of depth on the defensive line?

I thought Canada was going to open the playbook?

i thought the FO was committed to building the trenches up on both sides of the ball?

teams are T afraid of the Steelers or our coaching. Other teams dictate to us now. sF did it. Cleveland did it last night by coming out with a five man defensive line front committing to taking the run away.

all teams are going to defend us that way now to make us one dimensional because they don’t fear Canada or Pickett. Teams know the way to beat our defense is to run the ball on us with play action passing.

I feel like it is the same thing year after year where we say we’re going to be a better run team both at doing and stopping but yet it doesn’t seem to change.

we have added new players at it, whom have had proven success elsewhere and yet the results here are the same. I used to think we got soft because we put to much focus on appeasing Ben and the passing game but that is no longer relevant.

The common denominator here is the HC, OC and DC. The only thing this team seems to have gotten right is Edge Rushers and Wide Recievers. Right now we are wasting both because we can’t utilize wr’s when the plays, qb execution and protection are bad. We can’t utilize the Edge Players when they can be schemed out by opposing OC’s with a strong running game.

    some immediate changes should be
    Broderick Jones for Dan Moore
    JPJ for Levi Wallace
    Keanu Benton for Montravius Adam’s

I don’t understand why Tomlin is so conservative with those guys.

Let's look at your proposed changes:

Broderick Jones for Dan Moore. - Moore isn't the problem, Chukwuma Okorafor is.

JPJ for Levi Wallace. - Agree that Wallace is bad, they should out JPJ in. Just be prepared to live with the PI calls.

Keanu Benton for Montravius Adams. - Adams gets 40 snaps a game, Benton gets 30. They are both playing well, what's the point of this change?

Wow - Imagine if we would have lost. Don’t know about the rest of you but I’m enjoying my Tuesday. There are some concerns but 2 nd place in the division 2 games in is not a terrible place to be at the moment. I’m not firing Tomlin. I’m not getting rid of Canada. I’m not benching KP. I’m not trashing Najee. Relax and enjoy the win.

Give it a few weeks, we look like **** on offense, but there's been a lot of churn on the roster on both sides and there's rookies we need to integrate.

Let's not hit the panic button just yet.

I am sick and tired of watching the Steelers passing on every offensive guru and just keep hiring the same milque-toast OC's though. We haven't come close to getting the best out of our offensive weapons for years.

It's early yet. Steelers have played 2 of best defenses in the NFL. My opinion. I think the offence will get it together. Kenny needs to get rid of the ball faster. I don't think I seen one pass to are tight ends??? We're 1-1. One game at a time.

I marked this as disagree solely for the Canada piece. I've seen enough. The rest of the post I get. Not worried about being perfect the first couple weeks. Everyone made a big deal about the preseason and how the offense looked. It was 6 drives maybe? It's going to take time for a young team to gel, and if it happens, it will be despite Canada.

Did you miss the one and only Steeler TD in the San Fran game?

I wasn’t 100% sold on Pickett yet, so I understand his struggles.

What perplexes me is the awful play of the interior OL. They spent good money on Daniels (who was solid last year), Cole (again solid last year) and now Seumalo. And they seemingly get blown up every single play. It’s hard to watch.

Yes I pointed that out earlier in this thread. They are using Muth to block because the Browns defense is solid upfront.

I stated in another thread that if the defense is not scared of your offense they can attack without reservation, the oline is at a disadvantage right from the snap. IMO that is scheme based, and not talent based.

We've already played 2 of the top 3 or 4 defenses that we'll play all year. People need to take a breath and relax as this team will look vastly different as we progress, but this is the internet and that (people chilling out) won't happen.

Too early to panic. The lack of offense is troubling, but there are still 15 games left for them to improve. The defense is going to have to carry the load to start the season and hope that we can find an identity on offense. The OL does need a good talking to though, because I think it is the most glaring reason why we are struggling. No run game puts a lot of pressure on KFP and he looks like he is forcing it and trying too hard to have a big second year leap instead of just trusting the process and letting it happen. Yes, it is concerning... but we can't throw in the towel yet. This team will have to look a lot different at the end of the year than it has to start the year.... but we have enough time and talent to make that happen.

We have the Raiders and Texans on the road before we bring the Ravens to town prior to our bye. The early season bye is much needed. If we can find a way to get 2 or all of the next 3 and go 3-2/4-1 into the week off we can gear ourselves up for probably the toughest stretch of the season (Rams, Bengals, Browns on the road and Jags, Packers, Titans at home).

It is likely that future opponents will now just stack the box and challenge KP to throw and the OL will continue to struggle. I'm of the belief that the OL will eventually start to gel so I'm hoping these earlier struggles are just temporary.

Opposing teams are taking away deep passes and stacking the box to stop the run. Basically they’re saying we don’t think big ken has what it takes to dink and dunk down the field. So far they e been correct. BK has made poor decision after poor decision and bad throw after bad throw. This isn’t a scheme issue. We’ve had receivers open and bk has choked. Until he proves to be up to the task opponents will follow the same blueprint

Cole has been the big problem so far. He has been dominated. It's a little early to give up on them.

Who said it was going to be a dominant offensive line? Maybe a good one, but not dominant.

It is ridiculous to claim that the front office prioritizing the offensive and defensive lines was a lie. They signed Seumalo. They spent their first-round pick on tackle everybody had in the top 15. They spent one of their second-round picks on a defensive tackle. They used a third-rounder on a tight end whose strength is blocking. That certainly sounds like prioritizing to me.

Who promised anything about Canada? He sucks. If you didn't realize that, that was your mistake.

I have no idea what he heck is going on with Pickett. Everything we saw indicated a step forward. Sure, the first two matchups were brutal. Sure, the Browns also shut down Joe Burrow. It doesn't matter, but most of the rest of your list is comical.

It’s early and you can’t panic but I agree Canada has proven time and time again he doesn’t belong at this level.

When I watch the replays I see a pocket. As someone pointed out after the 49ers game, Kenny was getting more time to throw the ball than Brock Purdy was. Problem was Kenny couldn't hit the broadside of a barn during that game.

Najee is averaging 4.6 YPC. The best ever in his career. The Steelers just need to start giving him the ball more. Only 8 carries per game.

We will see how much better this O-Line gets in Vegas this week.

Canada should have been fired after last season. Actually, he never should have been promoted to offensive coordinator. Given some of his failures at the college level, especially at LSU, handing him control of the offense was stupid.

Harris has run into a wall on all but three of his carries. Those were all big runs. Even on one of those, the Browns blew up the blocking, but he escaped out the back side and made a play.

I'm not sure where you were seeing pockets for Pickett. There were some plays in the opener, but last night, it was rare.

Frieirmuth can't block to save his life , but I thought at least he would have made a few more yards. The offense is a joke and needs Johnson back in a hurry. Would add at least 2 good Wrs next year after Robinson leaves.

How have we been lied to? We’re at .500. Come the end of the season we will be at least .500 + 1

Too early to panic the OL struggled at the beginning of last season too, they also played two of the best defenses in the league.

That’s not exactly true. He’s fine as a downfield blocker. Not so much as an in-line blocker
