I saw that too but the article I read was from early January. It was a Tomlin quote where he also said, let’s get to OTAs and see what’s what. I can find no details on the actual injury.

 

Depth for sure - 3 decent ILB's never hurts. and no rush to draft, if he is on track TO return.

• The Pittsburgh Steelers are usually sticklers for non-traditional positions wearing single-digit numbers, but Patrick Queen confirmed during his introductory press conference that the organization will allow him to wear No. 6.

 

Apparently, according to Marvin Humphrey (who wasn't happy at all that Queen signed with the Steelers) there were two serious contenders to sign Queen.
He texted him- "Bro, tell me this was the only option. You have to help me get through this here. If you just sit here and tell me you just chose the Steelers".
"He said it was his best situation...and then he told me the other team."
"Once he told me the other team, I could understand a little bit."

Wonder who the other team was.

 

Holcomb had a foot injury that required surgery in 2022, then the torn ACL in 2023. They fix ACLs all the time now, and it is usually about a year until the player is back. Some make it all the way back just fine. Others are that proverbial half a step slower, or can’t cut on that leg. The law of the Serengeti applies.
Holcomb seems like a good hard nosed guy who played decently in a small sample, and I hope he makes it back. I guess we will not know until about mid season.
