I don't care about Baltimore, they have had bad losses this season too, as well as every other team in the league. Anyone who follows this team should of been prepared for what Brees did to them.

Ike regularly shuts down Green, I don't know how he'll do this time after sitting all year though.

Yeah, I was hoping for a win, especially considering our current playoff positioning, but like you I don't think it was a big shock that Drew Brees carved up our defense and we lost.

We match up well against the remaining teams, Matty Ice and the Falcons probably being the biggest challenge because of their QB and that we'll probably be favored.

The Ravens losses are understandable. Two close losses to the Bengals and a loss on the road to Indy and it was close as well. Only the other two are questionable - the loss to the Steelers because they were blown out and the loss to San Diego in the closing seconds - but San Diego is a quality opponent.

The Steelers have two awful losses to the Jets and Bucs and two losses to the Browns and Saints which are fairly rotten as well because they basically failed to seize the opportunity then got blown out. By seize the opportunity I am implying that in both games the Steelers dominated the first quarter but they only got FG then proceeded to get wiped out in quarters 2 and 3.

To me the Ravens appear more consistent and legitimate than the Steelers do.

Agree entirely. I am puzzled at the comparisons that people use to try and take our coaching staff off the hook for the amazing degree of inconsistency that we have seen for 3 seasons now. I know that there are problems that go beyond the coaching staff, but it's a head scratcher to me that some folks act like our coaches are innocent bystanders who are doing everything right. There's an obvious leadership void, and it includes our coaches. The Ravens look like a more consistent, better led team than we do.

Couldn't agree more about Adams. I think we can now say that the "Adams experiment" is a total failure. If we had anyone else that could play tackle I would have put him in.

What do you consider doing well on offense?

I don't consider the offense doing well until they score. I don't care about all that yardage and good stats, anymore. That unit needs to put the ball in the end zone.

Ben, himself, disagrees with these as reasons for his poor play. I watched his post-game interview. He said he just f*cked up.

Ike actually has a very good resume against Green.

Whoa now... the public school system itself does not predetermine smarts or intelligence level. Trust me, I know.

That being said... That memo keeps getting circulated. I burn it every time I see it.

I'm concerned about the inconsistency, as well. What do you see as actions the coaching staff should take to address these issues?

Maybe but it was like he wasn't even trying yesterday. Just jogging along with no effort. I would have benched him after that.

I stand corrected then, I thought they lost to an inferior team. My point wasn't directed solely at them but the league in general, even Denver has an embarrassing loss. And as you pointed out, we beat the snot out of Baltimore so what does that say?

How often do you hear players point to an injury as an excuse? He was clearly bothered by it, he was shaking his hand repeatedly, he was numb there, probably hit a nerve, I saw him and the trainer discussing it and thats the impression I got. Judging by how inaccurate he was, I bet that was the case.

The last few times we have played Cinci, AJG has consistently beat Ike, but Dalton either missed him or the safety came in and broke up the play after Ike got whipped. Stats don't tell the whole story, but Ike consistently gets beat by AJG, just like he gets beat by basically every WR he's matched up against.

Not what I meant. I meant let's move on, as in 'we know what happened, so how do we fix it?' Obviously, I don't feel comfortable for the final 4 games. The only reason we're still in the picture is because 2 of the other 3 stunk it up on the same day we decided to fall flat once again.

Mostly this. However, saying that 'no one in the NFL can have a stout defense anymore' isn't really accurate. You can. We don't.

Just kinda skimmed thru this, and the one thing I will say is...

I don`t think we came out "flat", this game...

We`ve done it plenty in the past, but I wouldn`t blame it on lack of effort, esp, at the beginning of the game, THIS time...

The D forced 2 punts, right off the bat...

We moved the ball, and unfortunateley settled for field goals early...

I pretty much knew we were in trouble then, wheteher Ben hurt his hand or not...

But that DAMN sure didn`t help...

When I saw him handing off with his left hand...

It didn`t take a rocket scientest to figure out that was gonna make it easier on the Saint`s D...

If Ben can`t throw deep, or hardly throw at all...

    We in deep poop...

Bell did his best to carry us at that point...

The D really wasn`t THAT bad, overall...

    But in this league,

A few big plays are all it takes to beat you...

And we gave up 2 BIG runs, and 2 or 3 BIG passes...

I won`t call that a lack of effort.

    They beat us.

    Crap happens...

We still have a chance to beat Cincy twice, and get right bak in it...

Lucky for us, the rest of our division lost games thy "should" have won...

I don`t really "expect" us to beat Cincy twice, but there`s no reason we can`t...

This league s about making a few plays a game, when it counts...

And we are certainly capable of that as well as anyone...

Even after Ben`s hand was hurt, there were a few passes to Heath, Brown, ec, hat they USUALLY make, even if t ain`t a perfect pass....
    Just sayin...
    WE AIN`T DONE YET!!!
