I expect a big jump next year. He petered out at the end of last season, and that is typical of rookies. He was almost non existant in the Jags game, but he wasn’t alone there. Put some meat on his bones, and another year of experience, and I anticipate great things.

Oh my goodness Blast! A positive Steelers thread?! Very seldom indeed! :lolol:

In all seriousness though, same here. I knew he was the right choice. I just did not believe that, at the time, we would nab him considering Green Bay was ahead of us. Glad the draft enacted the way it did.

Year two will be most exciting indeed.

Our only real hope of a ring is if Watt and Dupree become legit forces in 2018. We can't afford anymore Jarvis Jones failures, period.

Great read this kid has been pretty darn good, I know there has been a lot of talk on here how he petered off at the end of the year but like this article points out he started off with 2 sacks I guess it is all down hill from there :smiley1: I hate the fact people pointed out the down hill slide I do not buy any of it, I feel like the loss of Ryan had a major impact on what we did with Watt. It also points out to me just how good this kid can be, is going to be. I love how he points out Heyward as the leader/mentor/big brother and how so many guys were drafted. I think big things are coming for this guy the next couple years

Please, please unleash the OLBs. I like Bud more than most, but he needs to be pass rushing as much as possible. While Watt is good dropping back some, he needs to attack the QB as well. Let's get back playing downhill.

Watt will progress. Great motor, solid player. It's Dupree that needs to improve and better based on that his future depends on it. But then again, sure didn't work for Marshmallow Jones. Could we see another OLB taken in this draft early?

Hard to get through the read with that picture, but I will press on. The old days when the Defense played as a true 3-4. Although I used to scream when Lloyd would go out in pass coverage and not be rushing the QB. The structure has changed and I can't see them going back at this point. Hopefully this season it all comes together for the D. The addition of two new position coaches, drafting a top flight ILB and hopefully Burnett fits in and stays healthy gives hope. But yes Lambert I would like to see more rushing from the OLB's as well.

Good read. I think this kid will be a next Steeler's great. I am also still up on Bud. I believe he is a slow learner, but I believe he will get there. Of course, I thought Limas was going to great too. I vowed to never let myself forget how wrong I was about Limas, so here is being true to my word!

 Are you serious right now? Maybe I should have used green font but I thought it would be obvious to most that I was trying to inject a little humor into the conversation. When they handed out humor genes did you ask for Levis instead?

Jack, that last sentence wasn’t very nice. Non the less, I’m going to save it and use it at some totally inappropriate time some day. Thanks. ;)

Year two for watt will help bud play better. I too am not as down on bud as many. I'm not sure he has been that healthy yet. Health of tuitt will also go a long way to making bud better too. When these other guys are playing well it helps take some pressure off other guys on the front. I'd love them all to come into the season healthy for a change. It will make a difference.

You're right, mac. I think both Tuitt and Dupree played through injury all season.

I think he talked about that in a recent interview, it might help him from getting worn down at the end of the season.
