Could @thorn058 have had it right all this time? Will Ben be playing someplace else next season? It’s pretty clear he is done in Pittsburgh but, like Thorn said, he hasn’t made an announcement.

Been saying it all along. It's been a huge play on words. The whole world is saying Ben is retiring, but at no point did he say he is. He hasn't even hinted at it. I don't know why everyone thinks he is. He has admitted his time in Pittsburgh is over, but even with that he said it's only because they haven't offered him a new contract.

I believe he'll play somewhere else if a team offers him a contract to be the starter. I don't even think it matters what team.

I think Ben will wait a month or so to give it some thought. He’s either back here or done. I don’t believe he will uproot his family to play somewhere for a year. Maybe his decision revolves around the OC situation and if any other moves are made.

Doesn't his "contract" run for like 3 more years?

Plot twist: Ben returns to lead the league in fewest passes beyond the LOS.

He is done, just because someone hasn't told you something doesn't make it not true/ true ??

I too think he is done. The drop off just since mid last season has been stark. If he still had the consistent accuracy on his short passes, then I think he could still get by. But even that has declined. Probably due to knee and hip pain.

No it was one of those funny contracts that are all bonus and no salary for future years.

He becomes a free agent at the end of the year, and the Steelers then have a cap hit in 2022 for those 3 future years Bonus.

10 mil cap hit in 2022 for Bens 2021 contract and no Ben under contract.

Let him go play somewhere else if he wants. Time to move on. Thanks for the the tackle on the Bettis fumble and one of the greatest throws to seal another Lombardi. A large part of 2 Championships. Those days are long gone. Hope he goes home and enjoys the rest of his life with his family.

I was saying he was going to Denver to be reunited with Much and Randy, but with the whole Denver being put up for auction I might have to rethink that as I think the new owner would probably want Rodgers instead.

It looks like Jeff Bezos is throwing his hat into the ring as one of the bidders on the Broncos.

I’d be stunned if he comes back, he has been hinting at retirement in media interviews, the big send off at Heinz Field after the Browns game, his declining play, there is absolutely nothing pointing to him coming back.

I saw an interview before the Ravens game where he was asked directly if it’d be his last game (at that time nobody expected them to make the playoffs) and he said that it was very likely. Not confirmation, but close.

Until he officially announces his retirement we can’t say for sure but I just don’t see him wanting to come back when it comes to it, nor the team wanting him back. This team is crying out for a new start

He was looking like Bernie Kosar's last year out there. Could barely force the ball 5-6 yards downfield, and everything else was a lame duck, hoping against hope.

Even if he wants to keep playing, who's going to sign him?!?!

I think I saw a Steeler's Depot article the other day saying he could restructure his deal and save the team 7 million for 2022. Let the madness end. I know I was among the minority when Ward and Troy were forced into retirement and I felt they had enough for one more year so I know what it's like for people but my God he had nothing left so unless there is a fountain of youth he is done. Someone he respects needs to let him know. Heath, Max, Brett one of you please tell him it's time.

I don't see another team giving him a starting job, what's the point in him continuing to play.

I don't care what he does as long as it's not with us and we find a QB we can build around that can win us some games.

I will vividly remember Ben’s last pass. It looked like my wife threw it.

He will either wait until after the Super Bowl to announce it so he can have the spotlight. Or he will wait for free agency to see if anyone offers him a contract, and when that doesn’t happen he will spin his retirement notice.

He will need to be in the spotlight.

How? He's not playing for Tomlin so that's impossible.

There is a story on Steelers Depot that if he waits until June he can save the team some cash? I could be wrong.

I don't know, I think most likely he is done, but we really haven't heard the "R" word, have we?

I did say a while back ... someone WILL come knocking to offer him some money. If it is tempting enough, he might take it.

That’s correct, if he retires post June the team saves nearly $8m in dead money on 2022.

Drew Brees did this when he retired, Saints were in a difficult spot with the cap and needed him to wait until after june to officially retire
