This Guy is a Justin Fields apologists, and has been his biggest supporter...yet watch this, and tell me there is no separation, and no open guys....with a straight face. You can't, and this is why ....no matter how much I have grown to like Fields ....we must see a different Qb. Of course you can bury your head in the sand, and not watch

I read it is because Tomlin has too much say with the offense, AND that Smith is just as bad or worse than Canada, AND the trouble with the offense is all about injuries, AND more you are going to tell me it's bad QB play????
Maybe if the defense would have gotten 4 turnovers instead of only 3 we would have beaten the Cowboys!!!

I don't know if Fields is the answer people drop balls. like I said he is a project he might be worth working with he has lots of skills he didn't have a center miscue. Against Dallas ----Wilson might be best as back-up. Its either him or we Draft another QB.But we need help so many other places.:confused1::swoon::swoon::swoon:

I’m in the group that says we brought Wilson here for a reason. I realize the OL and WRs aren’t on par but an experienced QB can often see the field better.

Even when Ben was on his last leg, he’d grind, scrap and find ways to win many of those tight games. I’m not saying RW is the answer but let’s see what a proven vet can do for us.

Maybe if the D hadn't given up a 90 yard, 8+minute drive early in the second half, they would have won.

There should be an option for burying your head in the sand and still watching.

True! If the offense isn't going to score points then the defense can't allow any points. That's would fix it.

I honestly think people are looking for a scape goat because of a terrible defensive showing against Dallas and no weapons on offense. Look you cant sit Muth and honestly think your going to win games. Even sitting GP made zero sense unless it was some kind of attempt at discipline. There are alot of things wrong with this team right now and alot of blame to go around including offensive play calling and of course massive injuries. If we dont get a WR1 in here real soon this is going to be the norm week in and week out.

that 90 yard drive for 8.5 minutes was at 10-6 lead for Steelers.

the final drive where Dallas ran the ball most of the drive was also with the Steelers leading.

two leads early in 3rd quarter, and late 4th quarter all wasted by the D. So… the offense DID score more points in the 2nd half to take the lead TWICE… dude, let’s use facts, agreed?

a 90 yard drive for 8.5 minutes is simply unacceptable for any D, let alone this supposedly great D.

I'm not going to get into another debate over who is more at fault, offense or defense. The defense gave up those 2 scores you listed. Fact. The defense gave the offense 3 additional drives by taking the ball away. Fact. If the offense scores with those 3 extra possessions we win. Fact. If the offense scores on 2 of those possessions we win. Fact. If the offense scores on only one of those extra possessions we win. Fact.

You may have the last word. I am not going to debate anymore. Moving on to the Raiders game now.

I hope we win this week. I think we should. Still worried about our OLB position though. Boz is money. Throw the ball to George Pickens. No turnovers, limit penalties.

I have grown to like Fields as well. But at this point your right. Lets see what we have with Wilson. I don’t think the QB position is our biggest issue on this team right now but if Russ adds a spark then I am all for it. One thing we all know good QB play can mask and trump alot of other issues on a team so perhaps bringing Wilson in could just maybe open up the run game. I still think our biggest issue on this team right now is the Defense believe it or not. The expectation was sky high with that group going into the season and they haven’t played near the level we need them too the last two games. I expect them to be dominant in all phases on defense. If they can’t be then schematic and fundamental changes need to be made because we have thrown all the bodies and pedigree we could at it.

I love when people state their case and then say they aren’t going to debate anymore. What a crock of #%&^$%&. The defense gave up long sustained drives over and over and over again in both the Indianapolis and Cowboys games. In fact one of Dallas’s drives was over 8 minutes long. They were gifted one of the turnovers in the red zone, it was nothing the defense really did. The offense scored the go ahead touchdown with less than five minutes left in the game. All the defense had to do was force a three and out to win the game and they couldn’t do it. The defense gave up another long drive that resulted in a Dallas score. The Defense absolutely lost this game. If they can’t stop teams late in the game then why are we paying them so much. They are the most expensive defense in the league for crying out loud.

I couldn’t agree more. The Defense is a huge disappointment this year. Queen and Fitzpatrick have been really disappointing along with Beanie Bishop. I give some grace to JPJ because they aren’t using him correctly. Tomlin is the most at fault for the terrible defensive play. If we had a competent Defensive Coordinator who was actually allowed to coach the unit we would have the best defense in the league by far with all of that pedigree.

How do you blatantly ignore the fact that we gave up 90 yard game winning drive to the Cowboys at the end of the game?

I was replying to someone else's post. You and I already had this debate earlier this week. I don't wish to have it again and have to type out the same points as before. It's all here already for those that want to read.

And please stop crying out loud, it disturbs the other babies.

We did indeed. We will have to agree to disagree on this one. I do like the statement at the end. That is pretty funny.

Currently I am done with Austin.

I think Robert Saleh would turn this offense around in a big way.
He's going to get offers when the season ends, if I am Steeler Brass, I am getting my best offer ready and then one to top others.
Yes, I agree. There is the deal with Tomlin having to keep fingers off.
Saleh just fits the Pittsburgh way and brings back that swagger style.

I think I'd be fine with Aurthur Smith running the offense another year.
But I'd have a new QB, one not on this current roster.
    And a pair of WR's.

But all that is dreaming of being King Pittsburgh Steeler.

Austin's Defense is TJ pulling off superhuman feats..
    And some run defense.. sometimes.
    By Austin I mean Tomlin.

Combine all that with the fact that I am usually hoping a train runs over Bob Nutting in his office.
It's a hand full of nothing, that's what it is.

Hey @S.T.D why the second thread on Fields. Inquiring minds as noted above want to know the reasons for these shenanigans!
