I doubt it. We need playmakers at LB not practice squad/roster filler guys.

 

westerman can be depth I believe if the sign him. carter has played as well as I have seen him play since he's been here, and I think close to finally turning the corner as good depth. I agree Woodley needs to go. not sure if they can absorb his money though unless we drag another older guy out farther, or lose another good player off DL's defense.

foote needs to go too. it's time. we have fell back on him way too long now. add the unknown with spence and that's a couple of million dollars we would have to work with and two positions.

garvin and Williams will get better inside.

Timmons is what he is. a beast at times, but his awareness come into question just as often for a guy making his money and going into his 8th season. he's still learning and that's tough for me to say, but I believe it's true. physically gifted, but sometimes mentally challenged. maybe not all his fault either. again I look at butler for this. they relyed far too long letting farrior and foote do all the defensive thinking for him. they ask him to take that over, help bring a rookie into the mix, play more coverage and blitz the qb too. that's a lot on one guy.

this is a reason I would like to see us draft van noy. he could be a two for one pick. he can play inside or out at a high level in a 3-4. they use him a lot like we use Timmons but with a much better OLB game in him. he's also a great coverage LB. we could use another playmaker at LB, not just a sack guy. he'd fit that bill. how high would they take one though? I'd hate to see another one of the guys I want us to pick starting for the raisins. it seems like it never fails.
