I have preferred the workhorse approach but they finally found a good tandem that allows them to split the workload.

Bell and Williams were good too but they didn’t split the workload. Williams was just a good second RB.

Yep get rid of the bum after a bad game. Pick up a free agent that will get at least 100 yds every game no matter what. They are out there for sure. :)

We ran behind Najee to Ravens' two yard line, running between tackles, and then we brought in JW to run east west, and he got tackled outside the box behind the line of scrimmage. Maybe the worst call of the game, even worse than "making money" at the end of the half and losing a chance at a field goal.

Seemed like Warren got the yips. He couldn’t hang onto the ball and it went right to his head.

I wonder what might have been different. Could it be that Roethllisberger had some other things on his resume that were pretty good?

They were trying to catch the rookie linebacker inside, but he made a hell of a play. It was just a stupid risk given all the trouble Warren had holding on to the ball.

Besides the truly exceptional backs like CMC, you could switch running backs from one team to another at random with no change in the teams' records.

In other words, never ever ever waste an early round draft pick on a rb

    Good game though Najee

The advantage of having 2 solid running backs. When one is having an off game, the other is usually there to pick up the slack. Warren has given us a lot of great performances. He is a min pay guy. I am not going to disembowel him over 1 bad game.

If I were Tomlin, I would remember to not let Warren touch the ball when playing on a wet field.

What you are not saying is ....Warren has as many fumbles in his Career as Najee.....with 663 less touches. Really really think about that for a moment.
We need both, and both are great at what they do, but one is not a every down starting RB, and that's OK.

I didn't understand that call giving the ball to Warren there, especially with him having trouble holding onto the ball.

He has the exact same fumbles in his Career as Najee....only difference is....he's done it with over 600 less touches. That could add up to be a problem. I like both , and many have been totally wrong about trying to say one was so much better than the other.

Well technically Najee has 6 career fumbles since he fumbled in the lone playoff game he played vs the Chiefs his rookie year, but yes, he is generally sure handed. Warren hasn’t fumbled enough for it to be a huge issue, Najee is more sure handed and Jaylen is more explosive (averaging 1.2 ypc more in his career than Najee).

If we get the Najee from most of the season, I would put Jaylen pretty securely ahead of Harris. If we get the Najee of the past three weeks…. Then it’s generally pretty close. I hope Najee keeps running hard and has a big game next week too. Gonna be fun to see some playoff football.

It is but my whole response was about this season in response to your colleague Glenn bringing up the Najee vs Warren issue during the game when Warren had his worst game really in a long time. So your point in comparing careers while valid was not what I was responding to which was the discussion this year. Warren saved our bacon a lot this year. I've turned the corner on najee and say you pick up the 5th year and run them both, but part of me is where was his running tenacity earlier int he season. I get Canada is gone and that helps so hence my quandary on him. We pay him and he reverts and that would suck, hope he comes into camp a bit leaner as Bell has suggested and balls it out.

F**k Bell. If Bell played on this team behind KFP, and Trubisky he would suck. Like He showed in the Jets when nobody was afraid of their passing game.

Again, its not the same because Harris has 6 fumbles and Warren has 5. The fumble in the playoff vs KC counts, but that isn't the point.

Warren has fumbled 5 times in 315 touches (rate of one every 63 touches) in his first 2 years
Harris' in 2022 fumbled 3 times in 313 touches (rate of one every 104 touches)

Yes, it is worse... but its not like Warren has some massive fumbling problem. He just isn't as sure handed as Najee... It really isn't a huge deal, no.

Warren has averaged 1.3 yards per carry more than Harris has in his career though. Is that a big deal? Or nah?

If Warren puts the ball on the carpet again in crucial situations then it becomes a problem. I am willing to put that game behind me because of the torrential rain, but it will be the back of my mind say in the snow in Buffalo. But driving rain is way worse than snow. I'm good with the two back set but at times you run the hot hand and not worry about equitable touches. The cadence of how they have used them the last couple of games has been way better than throughout the season when it was too predictable and seemingly never took into consideration who was hot.

LoL. Ok so Warren has one less fumble in over 600 less touches...answer the question....no big deal???. Yes anyone that watches football knows 70% of the time the 3rd down back.. ...which Warren has been most of his career gets more yards per carry, and only people that don't know football don't know this, or the fact....that most RB with less carries have a higher ypc average. Same dumb people tried using this against Elliott when he was still good with Pollard....wow...guess what happened when Elliott left, and Pollard got the big amount of carries???? Magically His ypc dropped....I know this is hard to understand for newbies. When You carry the ball, and down , and distance makes a big big big difference in how tge D plays You.
