I remember when Ward played for Georgia....I freaking hated Him, and then the Steelers drafted Him, and He became one of My all time favorite players.

I honestly lucked up with being a Georgia boy, as well living in Pittsburgh to go to school.

There's other stuff to my origin story, lol. Like being the falcons photographer, so I do know loss..... honestly if I could move back to Pittsburgh, I would talk to them about coming in and training a couple young bucks as my apprentice.

Ward is my favorite Steeler of all time. I am hoping Pickens becomes one of my all time favs.

He's not My favorite, but He is definitely in My top 10 for sure. I would say Mel Blount is My favorite of all time.
Not many , or any Wrs Defenses fears for more than just catching the ball, but Hines was one. I will never forget Ray Lewis stepping out of bounds....instead of picking up a fumble because He saw Hines coming. That $hit is priceless.

Sorry I don't see the similarities. Ward was a tough SOB and took alot of shots going down the middle. Pickens catches while fascinating are on the outside. Ward was the consummate pro who could take a thumping and smile about it.

They both have a mentality and physical edge to their games, but I don't see how their playing styles are remotely similar.

Don't see it at all. Ward was not selfish and could throw a block. He also did not cry like a little girl when mommy didn't let him play with the ball. Probably unfair of me since I got a little PO'd at him in a game.

Do I think Pickens will be great, yes. Do I think he may cause some trouble, maybe.

You are not going to be happy with ILB Tae Crowder either. He was cut after posting a Free Me twitter.

That smile had to be irritating for a D guy who just tried to knock your block off, or for the D guy who just had his block knocked off by a smaller receiver. lol

You think Pickens is not? During an on side kick, he fault for the ball to where he was ejected. During his days with Georgia he did the same. Literally took a guys head to throwing him into the wall.

I get what you are saying. I am thinking it's more a desire to be great than it is a selfishness at this point. Time will tell.

Come on Bro, you are attempting to compare a HOF caliber WR/all around football player with a rookie. Ward was a great football player. Ward could run, pass, catch, run routes, block, ect. Ward could had played on defense.

This is what I mean by a Football player and not just a WR. Ward was an NFL caliber HOF WR that had the mentality of a football player.

Let's give Pickens some time before comparing him to the great HW.

Ward playing QB for Georgia. Can't believe I found this.

They are both wide receivers who are also very physical blockers. That is the only thing similar about the way they both play. Ward was far more versatile in his route tree and his in-game skills. Then again, Pickens is only a rookie. Ward didn't play very much on offense as a rookie. He was targeted only 33 times that year. Pickens already has 47 receptions on 74 targets.

Great find! But, man, that’s an ugly short-armed delivery he had.:lolol:

I’ve said all along that Hines belongs in the HOF, not because he’s statistically one of the greatest WRs of all time, but simply because he’s one of the greatest FOOTBALL PLAYERS to ever play the game.

Playing style isn't saying he's going to be ward.

All that you said with run, pass, catch, routes, block, etc. Pickens has done that in college and nfl..... go watch the videos I posted.
