On a serious note... I actually thought Wallace had been looking better this year. Yes, I realize he is not getting the big down the field splash play, but I thought he had look better running routes and finding holes. Really, we know that having him run full tilt and throw the ball long is there if we needed it. So many times I have heard fans complain that he is a one trick pony and now a few are complaining because he isn't sticking with his one trick. Personally, I like all the receivers we have here and hope they all remain.

I am not unhappy with Wallaces play, as it is what I have come to expect from him.

The one thing I will say concerning his desire for top WR money is that he needs to get better at actually going and getting the ball in clutch situations like a top-5 WR does. Go up and get it high with the hands. Wallace still seems to only catch the ball by trapping it to his body. He does not appear to have good enough hands to snatch the ball when the pass isn't right in his bread-basket. I do not feel he is capable of making a leaping catch a-la Holmes' catch in the superbowl.

Watch Boldin go after a ball, or Fits, or Marshall, Megatron, etc. They go get the pass aggressively. Like a rebounder in B-Ball who really wants the ball.

a lot of people reading this thread have mistaken my complaint here. i dont hate Wallace. i know how important he is to this team and the success of the other wr's on the team. my complaint is that he doesnt seem to give the same effort as Brown and Sanders. Brown gives it everything he has on every play. Wallace tends to give up on plays.

last Sunday he must have given up on atleast 3 balls. he didnt even try and make a play on the deep pass in the endzone.

all i was complaining about was his effort not his ability.

He made a catch just like that to beat the Packers, in the season after SB43. I think that was the season. It was a regular season game. It was deep down the field and a TD catch leaning out of bounds. Well it's a dive, not a leap, but he can get it done in tight situations.

Yes, that was a good catch and even a better pass, but it was still a catch made into his breadbasket. He almost never catches the ball out in front of him or at the high point with his hands. The ball always seems to need to come into his body. I am not sure he would have made that catch if the ball was a foot or so further out of bounds where he would have had to go get it with his hands.

I do agree that most times Wallace does appear to wait for the ball to come into his body. I wonder what they are seeing in practice. Heck, AB caught a deep one against his helmet 1 or 2 seasons ago. Lol! That guy does have some hands on him.
