Until he is actually here, this is old news.

If anyone else made those comments about him being ready I would brush it aside but coming from Rice, that's a little concerning.

jerry rice actually ran timing routes with montana and young.. wallace runs a straight line,,, ben throws it as far as he can and hopes wallace can catch up to it... i think they remember how to do that.. he draws coverage to open AB and manny and cotch.. thats all.. doesnt take anytime to learn "go deep" we all did that since we were 8 years old.. and thats fine .. draw 2 guys with him out of the action 85% of the time.. let AB and manny and catch pick up 5 or 10 or 15 yards.. but he never ran routes well for arians so why will he be any better under the new OC? bet ben dotn even have to say .. mike.. go deep buddy.. he knows by now..

Just having him on the field is a + but I'd like him to actually be involved in making plays too, more weapons for Ben to go to the better and unfortunately that means running routes.

whatever he did it worked. wallace 8 TD's AB 2 TD's. both with near the same yardage. one double covered, one not. yards don't win games ,TD's do. we need the production from many sources. the more the merrier. let them try to defend them all.

I concur with this thinking. I can see Ben in the huddle now: "48 X Slot Right, Wallace go deep!" As long as he's in shape, he will make an immediate impact in the game. Not necessarily putting up stats like a beast for the first 8 games of the season last year, but enough to take 2 defenders with him with every play going deep, taking the top off the defense and opening up the middle of field.

I admit I have not been too crazy with how Mike has handled this situation but I realize he does bring a dimension to the Steelers that can only help the team. If he has been working out, like they say he has, and if that includes his route running, it could be another big year for him. The corners have to give him a big cushion at the line (unless they have a tampa two but even then they should be playing off) which would allow the quick slant pass.

I guess we will all see how good of shape he is in in Denver.

the longer they hang back the quicker ben can get it out to negate the O-lines lack of pass protection. he helps so many things on offense, not just go deep young man. he's a better receiver then that overall. he is one of the elite in the nfl and will be paid like it and will play like it. we really can be high powered this year. you probably can't WIPE the smile off of haley's face right now. :-D
