I was never one to hate on Wallace.
he`s probably faster than any other reciever in the league. ...
And despite some mis-construed comments by Tomlin about him being a "one trick pony" ( that was simply to motivate him, IMHO)...
He has shown a serious lack in judgement, by disrespecting his former team...
I`m pretty sure Troy, and Ryan are just DYING to show him how serious they are about how devoted they are to get another Lombardi!!!!
Not that they need motivation from that punk, but...
They are pretty damn good on their own, without extra motivation....
I Can`t wait to see them light him up!!!
And I`m pretty sure the rest of our defense heard those comments, too...
Do ya really want to make yourself a target?!?
Thanx... Can`t wait to see how we "prepare" for that game...!!!
    HAHAHAHAHA!!!
    Not scared of you, Mikey!!!
    GO STEELERS!!!:herewego:

Probably has something to do with the unsolicited, negative comparisons you keep making to the media, Mike. Just a hunch.

    To quote the Steeler Depot:

That's pretty much it, in a nutshell. Dude has shown he is not the sharpest tool in the box. Likewise, there's been an audience for his words who are riding to it where no rising was really needed. As I said before, who here can hand on heart say "No, Mike, you're wrong, the team played really hungrily last season! Our entire mediocre final record was down to you and you alone!"

But make no mistake: he is a douche.

I think Wallace has missed his calling. As much time as this guy spends "clarifying" his statements I really think he should just run for office. He needs to stop being so wishy washy and say what he really thinks and stand by it. If he thinks he got a bad deal from us then he should say so and leave it alone. I don't understand why he always feels the need to go back on his words. He just seems more politician than football player to me.

i don't know thig. we played quite inspired football when ben was out. charlie, lefty, josh victorian, kelvin beachum, robert golden, david gilreath, DD,malecki,on and on.................... i think these guys and the team played their azzes off trying to get in the playoffs. charlie batch was in tears after that win. i think this team rallied without their qb and played with alot of fire. look at the browns game at the end. they were cheap shotting our guys and we took over. that's fire.

things just didn't go our way to win those games, but i belive these guys played with fire. maybe mike didn't. i have been a backer of wallace to a point. i don't think he needed to say this for any reason. his team has to play these guys this year and you can bet someone will have some fire for him. i liked mike when he was a steeler but he is no longer and never will be again.

He has not chosen his words very well and it doesn't show a level of maturity that I would like to see out of him.

First, he wasn't in Miami DURING the year last year. What does this mean? He has no idea what the hunger level was like last year in Miami, nor does he know what it is currently like here in Pittsburgh.

Second, Mike wasn't really the most focused individual on the field last year. Dropping things that he would have caught in previous seasons.

Third, I think Mike needs to understand that if the implication is that Miami was hungry last year and the Steelers weren't, that despite that....the Steelers still had a better record. In other words, the not hungry team MUST have more talent because they floated and STILL won more games than the hungry team did. This all in a division which had 2 teams WORSE than they were at 6-10. The Steelers at least played in the division of the SB winner.

Lastly, on some level I just don't care what Mike thinks. He has his perspective, we have ours. Who cares that they are different? Does it really matter how you treat your brothers when you choose to abandon them for more money? I personally wish we knew for sure how much money difference there was in the 2 offers.

I was a MW fan but to me it's more than clear he was a MAJOR issue in the locker room last season and i'm actually glad he's gone for that reason alone. I think Mendenhall was another locker room issue and a reason he's no longer on the roster as well.

I wish someone had bit on that 1st round tender. There were a lot of players in the #27-#55 area that we could use. Or maybe we trade up and land Hightower alongside DeCastro.

Suprisingly, what Wallace has said doesn't really bother me. There is not doubt that he wasn't focused here this last year and had no desire to do anything other than go through the motions. I am sure that didn't sit well in the locker room with a team like the Steelers. I'm with Mac on this one. I don't think the teams attitude or desire had anything to do with our record last year (minus a player or two). I think we just had some really, really bad luck and it was the Ravens time. As for Wallace, well, he is no longer a Steeler, do you really think he shouldn't be excited or make the best out of the situation he's in?

I disagree, there were games we came out flat for, no motivation, San Diego game comes to mind, Dallas too. Yes, the things you mentioned contributed greatly to our season but don't think a team fighting amongst themselves won't effect their play on the field. Back when those games took place I was scratching my head but now that these things have been made public, it makes perfect sense to me why they looked flat in those games.

Remember in the Dallas game when Ben threw the pick and Wallace "pursued" the guy like a little old lady? If Wallace's heart were really in it I honestly believe that play would have turned out differently. You will never convince me that he couldn't have caught him. That play STILL makes me mad just thinking about it. Wallace was in it for Wallace all year long. I've just gotta think the fear of injury is what kept him from tracking the guy down.

we also had josh victorian starting the dallas game. we were just undermanned in several games last year, but i think the fire was there for most players. starks didn't make a great attempt at the return guy either in that game. i've seen plax do the same as wallace too many times on a pick. he gives up frustrated. that's been my knock on him for several years.

Yeah we definitely lacked the fire in the belly last year for sure. I think if we could have bottled what we had in the Rats game at Baltimore we could've done something but obviously we didn't. Also I've never been a Plax fan and never will. I just don't really like him for whatever reason. I've never thought of him as a guy that would go the extra mile. And yes Josh Victorian had his coming out party in the Dallas game and it was not pretty. LOL. I still wake up at night screaming because of it.

I got $5-$10 I could chip in as well. Let me know, Steeler Nation is strong down in the south, I could raise quite a bit.

He said that he has no beef or bad feelings with the Steelers but continue to run his mouth. He will be the cause of the dolphins getting the brakes beat off of them. We now have a problem with him. no mercy

you know that the fins are going to throw long on either the first or second series that they have the ball when we play them. heck iwould almost put bank on the first play. This is where I hope that we have Clark or Troy in center field waiting to slide over for a pick. that will take the air out of his loud mouth A$$.

Yeah hopefully the fins game will cost Troy or Ryan about $25,000. LOL. Just kidding.

After giving this thread some thought (because sometimes it takes me longer to process things than other times) I have come to the conclusion that it IS NOT ok to talk trash, say anything remotely negative or say anything that could be interpreted as being anything but postive about the Steelers. Basically, anytime a player leaves the Steelers and opens their mouth it would fall into one of those categories which should be reason enough for them to keep their flaps shut. It is perfectly fine, and should be expected, for a player leaving another team to do this because, well, that team isn't the Steelers. I'm going to petition Rog, right now, and make this a rule!
