I don't understand some of this discussion. So Sanders agent is singing his virtues is that new? I don't blame any player for trying to max his value, his time is short and if he blows out his knee after signing a Steeler favorable contract, there will be many post saying cut-the-non-contibuting-salary-drain. Sanders is not a great player but he has value, he's probably the #2 this yr. If he's not worth it he can go the James Harrison route. It cuts both ways, sometimes a player is worth more than his current team thinks and sometimes he's not. That's the way it's supposed to work.

Not every player thinks its an honor and a privilege to play for the team you root for. Sometimes their just mercenaries, like everybody else.

You're presuming a rookie would automatically equal Sanders 2012 number of snaps and that is just not the case with this organization. Rookies don't get much playing time in this offense. Receivers have a hard time reading defenses. A bird in the hand is greater than two in the bush. Sanders should improve on his 2012 stats because he is a starter. A rookie most likely won't
