I think Big Ben would be the actual real answer to questions one and two.

Tomlin definitely was responsible for Hiring Canda as the QB coach. And then promoting to OC.

It is a big step in firing the OC but in this case, I think it is best for all parties.
To set expectations, it won't fix a lot.
My guess is that they would hand the reins to Mike Sullivan, who is maybe slightly better and has experience as an OC.

The other option is to keep Canada and finish the season.
But I can see very little benefit to that side of the coin.

My guess on the situation is that this morning there was probably a discussion, which leads to another discussion with Rooney
and some hand wringing, which would lead to either a demotion or a firing.
It's tough to fathom much else. The evidence is very clear, The offense sucks. You have to do something.

I agree. They have to do something and letting Canada go would seem to be the obvious choice. Unfortunately, I’m not sure how much the offense could change under Sullivan… It’s not like he can introduce an entirely new playbook. Hopefully he could add to the 10 plays Canada has and at least try and make us less predictable.

This is not even remotely the same offense We saw with Fichtner. It's not close, and it wasn't last year either. I mean people said We were running the same thing, but We weren't.

Or, more importantly, change the calls (down and distance) and maybe perhaps involve players that are our playmakers.. ie: Pickens.
I do agree. The offense is what is for now.

This.:this!:...while the plays aren't great....what's worse is when they are being called, and No consideration of building off of each other. JMO

Monday is almost done and no word on Canada being fired. I can’t see it dragging into tomorrow unless they have already let him know and they’ll announce it tomorrow? I don’t know… I just feel like if it doesn’t happen today, it’s not going to happen.

You would think they would prioritize saving their investment in Kenny Pickett. They have to realize this is not helping him develop.

That alone should motivate them to make a change. I agree, it would be Sullivan, his experience alone at this level should be an upgrade overly Canada.

Whats different about it? Serious question because it feels like I am watching the same thing. Extreme dink and dunk and emphasis on sideline passes, non existent MOF and few passes downfield.

Now, much more recently, there has been an attempt to attack the MOF, mostly with Muth which is good to see. But overall, seems exactly the same. Just look at the QB charts of Ben, Mitch and Kenny, all the same.

That’s why I have wondered aloud if changing OC will make a difference if its Tomlin that is driving this offensive scheme.

Ben, Mitch and Kenny have all failed and the only success it had was when Ben would draw plays up in the dirt. He had the clout to do get away with that, Mitch and Kenny do not.

The route pattern are different for one....We never used roll outs like last year, and this year(I'm not talking about the Qb rolling out on their own)....the delayed hand offs virtually disappeared until this game....that's just some of the difference between Fichtners offense, and Canada's off the top of My head.
