He can probably get a HC job, I doubt he will settle for a DC position.

Why on earth would he accept that. He will easily get a HC job.

Right. Somebody will hire him as HC, be it the NFL or college

I think Dylan Powell saying that he “quite quit” is a stretch, but I do think that drove a wedge between him and upper management.

Dude that was going to two super bowls. He went to the AFC championship in 2017, that’s the same number as Vrabel. I’m not saying Vrabel is not a good coach, I’m saying he is anything but an upgrade.

If Tomlin walks away, we will try and hire the best coach we can get. He isn’t it, we have his record and he isn’t doing much. Then he goes to NE at a halftime deal and gushed about them being the best organization. No thanks.

Are we getting Brady with Belicheck? Because without him, you get the Browns in the 90’s and NE the last four years. Bill has been exposed. That’s why they sent him packing

Getting to an AFC championship game is certainly an accomplishment but that game was over 5 mins in. That’s his best run in 13 years and he beat Matt Moore and Alex Smith before getting destroyed.

Well, you have a point there. Brady pretty much proved by winning a SB with the Bucs that Belichick needed Brady a lot more than Brady needed Belichick

"its an upgrade" is just basing someone off their past. Bill Belichick in 2024 ISN'T an upgrade over Tomlin. His legacy is.... but Bill isn't in his current state.

It's the same thing for Tomlin. His legacy is HoF, but he isn't a HoF level coach in the current state.

No freaking way. HCs that aren't GMs don't get the players, and coaches they always want. It's amazing. Yet somehow Tomlin is the only HC that's does.??? LoL. It's amazing that some that are arguing Vrabel organization did Him wrong with picks, and stuff, are some of the same people that have laughed when I said the same about the organization doing it, and not Tomlin. Hmmmm:hmm:

    and when we lose ours.

Based on the small sample of coaches we’ve had in the last 50 years, my bet is that we will hire some young, relatively unknown coach and not an established one like Vrabel.

If he leaves I agree, they alway start younger. I imagine Johnson from Detroit will be high on the list.

Just perhaps, a coach of 4 years doesn't get the same level of influence that a 17 year coach does. I don't think Tomlin get's everything he wants but I would be hard pressed to think Colbert or Khan will pick someone he 100% objects to except maybe if the owner says "take him" but according to Cowher Rooney did not make the decision on Ben. Who knows but each organization runs differently and a coach this long might have more say and influence than most other coaches but we do not know and unless you are in the inner circle we will never know.

Well to say one does, and the other doesn't, and to stick up for one, and bury the other for the same seems hypocritical in my eyes. I've given many examples of Tomlin not getting what He wanted.

no in love with Vrabel but he does not suck either. he had a hard falling out with the owner. he was dissed in the GM selection. things went S from there. owners , coaches and GM's have to get on the same page. we saw the Cowher / Donahoe mess in the 90's - I don't all that went down there.

if he and Rooney and Khan sit down and it is love at first sight, culture, etc, then he can be our guy.

can't remember the entire gist of it, but as I recall Bill went to Dan Rooney with his resignation letter, said it is either him or me...and they chose Bill. Feel BC had 2 distinct stretches' here, the second GM teamed up to bring a SB/

It was a bit more professional than that

Bill said he went to Dan and said he couldn’t work with Tom and one of them should go

Vrable is smart. He now knows NE hired from within. He probably wants to go to a team that is not a total rebuild situation. I`m thinking he might be waiting to see if Tomlin is taking time off. Hey, if he replaces Tomlin, I`m good with that.
