Funny, I saw something from Avery Williamson a few days ago saying he was looking to resign with the team. I wonder if it was first guy to sign, or are they looking to bring him back as well.

I was thinking about him after seeing this news. I’m guessing they don’t now. He may be looking for too much. Vince has much more history here, bigger connection to Pittsburgh, I can see why he’d come back for less money.

Williamson was probably a stop gap for the Devin Bush injury, doubt he re-signs but I wouldn’t hate it if he does. There is no such thing as too much depth at ILB

At this point I really do not know what more Avery brings to the table over Vince and Spillane. Still think if the right person is there they pick ILB high in the draft.

If UG 3 can stay healthy he certainly has shown potential, problem is he cannot stay healthy.

It’s a shame though that they forfeited a draft pick for a half season rental that didn’t even do anything.

I don’t think this changes their draft strategy much if at all. Still think there is a good chance they go ILB with the first pick if JOK or Collins are there.

I think they have positioned themselves to be able to take BPA without reaching through the draft now.

I would love to have both Vince and Avery back.

The way our ILB group got decimated last year, the more the merrier.

So what are the terms? How much less is he playing for than he could have got elsewhere?

we still have to pay the dead money of 3,031,668. then whatever we signed him back for. probably 1 mil. per. so he will still cost over 4 mil. this year saving about 3 mil..

3 million is a lot when pinching pennies.

Was going to cost us 3 million in a cap hit regardless. Really a smart move by the Steelers.
