Signed with the Saints today in case no one's heard. I thought he was a pretty intriguing prospect and I was hoping Colbert would find a way to get him signed. This is exactly the kind of free agent we used to sign, a player under the radar but on the upslope of his career. Has Colbert lost his touch? Ozzie is kicking his butt in the free agency game right now!

Come on steel. They've lost aging has-beens for the most part. I'd take Dumervil over Lewis right now, wouldn't you?? And Michael Huff is a darn solid safety. He's also quite a bit younger than Ed Reed. They've also signed Chris Canty and Marcus Spears to add depth to their defense. Any way you slice it, the Rats are having a more successful free agent signing period than the Steelers.

Why does everyone think Ozzie is doing so great? Because he signed Dumerville??? He needs to make about 5 more big signings before he puts a dent in the FA losses they suffered. No Boldin, no Pollard no Reed and Lewis retired. So ok, Dumerville replaces Kruger. He signed Huff too, big whoop, he aint no Reed. They also lost CB Cary Williams and ILB Dannell Ellerbe. I'm sorry but I'm not seeing the envy. The GM I think that is doing great is Atlanta's, signed Jackson and now got Osi plus Gonzalez came back.

And we've signed... Willie Gay, Matt Spaeth and, oh who was that other great signing we had? Oh! I remember now, David Johnson!

He's a very good GM regardless of what he does or doesn't do this off-season. The fact that he's the GM of the Ravens means nothing to me. My hatred for the Ravens goes only as high as the coach, not all the way up to the GM.

Speaking of Butler - has anyone seen contract details yet? I am wondering what he got for money, and whether we could have been in the running had we wanted to be.

Not positive, but I think I read somewhere that it was a 2 year deal at $1.125 M per.

It was a 2 year deal for $3 Mil, with $1.5 guaranteed. I'd have to look around for the exact breakdown.

Thanks TTF, I guess I was a bit off, but still an affordable contract.

Yikes! I would have jumped all over Butler for that kind of small change.

Wow, so ok, Steelers are basically hoping people will play here for the promise of Terry Bradshaws signed jersey.

Once again a sleep at the wheel, I am wandering who the Steelers
have scouting opposing teams talent. TTF you seem to be up to date
    on this type of stuff?
