besides ben and wrs all other players are underperforming that leads me to a conclusion that at least they are out of shape or at worst are bad

And while I think of it: do we have any plays in the vaunted Haley playbook that aren't screens or shotgun draw plays?

 

We saw 3 or 4 more wr screens yesterday and yet another miserable attempt at an end around. Why he keeps trying to run them or reverses when he knows full well our line wears cement boots is anybody's guess.

 

the sad thing is for years we have been wanting an offense that can score with any team to go along with the top rated defense that they had.

now they have an offense that looks to be headed in the right direction and seems to be getting better each week, but now the defense is old, slow and just not very good.

i dont think even with Troy and James coming back will put them over the top. they just cant get pressure on the qb and now they cant stop the run.

they have spent years trying to fix the offense and now the defense is too old.

Blount, you are so right, I agree with you 100%.

 

Yeah I'm worried...Raiders played well yesterday, but on Joe Bendel they went over their previous 2 games and they got trounced by average teams. Now THAT is scary....

 

I guarentee the Steelers will not lose this week.

I actually think that maybe that's what needs to happen. It just seems like Tomlin and the players are under the illusion that they are an elite team...that their losses and poor play are mere anomalies that will soon fade. Perhaps losing the next few games would force them to be more critical of themselves and their talent, which could be a good thing.

 

I won`t dilute the spirit of this thread, with the positives that I see, just because it`s in my nature to look for the positives in any situation.
There aren`t many with my favorite team, right now, even though I could come up with a few... :o
Basically... We are 1-2, when we should be 3-0... or at the very least, 2-1...
