little like Nascar, when drivers get low on gas they conserve by shutting down the engine and restarting.. Joey said he had a talk with James reminding him on the fact of aging and a reminder their is less then a year between the two. Joey knows the mentality of James wanting more snaps and thinking this triggered a conversation along with a combination of other subjects concerning the new season.. IMO 25 snaps is a good for James and the team. Had to laugh at Joey when he said he himself had 2 snaps left in him, i beg to differ after seeing the Heyward chest bump last season. :lolol:

Pretty sure he said 25 snaps is the maximum, not the number to expect. Meaning we should expect lower than 25.

The key to managing those snaps is understanding when to make use of those snaps. Do you use them early in the game in order to make sure you have the lead to protect, or do you use 5-6 a quarter, or do you save them for the fourth quarter when you might be protecting the lead?

That sounds good, but where does the roster spot come from? I'm not sure how we can fit a 2nd aging vet at OLB on our 53 man roster.

Edit - never mind. I now see that you were referring to replacing Cam T, which I wholeheartedly endorse.

conrath,LT and hemmer will have something to say about the DE position against geathers and Thomas. I don't think Thomas is a lock at all.

I'm pretty excited about the DB's for a change and like the d-line I think some young guys could have something to say about spots like goldens and possibly allen. lewis, aldon, Dangerfield, ventrone, wild, Holliman and fogg possibly could make some noise at safety.

webb, blake, golson, grant, allen and gay will be guys that we can win with and blake and webb are getting some much needed years under their belts and should be better players for it. if nothing else there will be major competition going on.

we seem to have brought in a higher quality of futures players this year and all that can do is raise the level of play for all of them. that is a good thing. a lot of people seem to dwell on the what they were in this group and every year they hang around in a pro setting has to raise their game. we are building right now and these type of players will be beneficial to us down the road. who wants it more and who wants to work harder to stick will come out of these guys.
