Maybe I'm making lemons out of lemonade here, but...

If Bird**** doesn't bang up Ben, Ben's shoulder doesn't hurt, he doesn't throw a bad pass to AB, AB catches the ball and is tackled cleanly, the penalties don't happen, we don't get the 30 yards, time runs out, we loose.

    Dominoes, it's all dominoes.

Way too much time far and in between the shoulder injury, but you're right. If Ben didn't have a bum shoulder then the pass wouldn't of sailed and Brown would have caught it.

The only thing is that Burfict still lights up Browns head and gets the 15 additional for the FG win ;)

Either way the bengals have an excuse and we still feel better then they do. It reminds me of the Seahawks Super Bowl in 05-06

Lol. Yep. But you're also forgetting that the hit on Brown (if you're saying he catches it cleanly in this alternate reality) was at Boswell's FG target line. So we would have at least had a shot at a long FG attempt (51 yds I believe) even without the penalty yardage (the catch would have given us the 15 yards not applied by the Burfict hit).

The reality is, none of this would have happened if the ref had allowed Shazier to return his fumble recovery for a TD... 22-0, game over. Bungles fans can cry all they want, but they were handed the biggest gift of all Saturday night.

At this point it's all about Pain tolerance. Now it's Ben we're talking about here. You think some pain in the shoulder is going to stop him? Have you guys not paid attention to the past decade?

That's assuming everything prior to that would have played out the same way. However, you're leaving out having Ben for the entire 4th quarter as opposed to the last 2 minutes.

Pain tolerance is only part of the equation. While he has certainly played hurt on more than one occasion the results haven't always been pretty. The night game against the 49ers comes to mind

Hope Ben is okay. Expect the NFL to have Cincy come to Pittsburgh to open the season next year.

First game of NFL season will not be in Cincy. That's for the winner of the Super Bowl

    Between Steelers and Bungals

The first matchup will be in Cincy... My post was not a prediction

Nobody knows who the winner of the super bowl will be

This was exactly what I was going to post. Fans get so caught up in stuff like this, especially when it comes to score. Kicking a FG, not kicking a FG, going for 2, not going for two. Its not logical to assume that had a decision or circumstance changed, the game would have progressed EXACTLY the same way.

If Ben is not injured on that play, I don't believe that drive is even necessary.

Agree and this is what scares me the most. He will play hurt and the results not pretty. However we have to ride with him because without him there's no chance.

With Ben's injury, we need to dress (sad to say) Michael Vick just in case. If Brown can't go, may God please help us in our chances. If he can go, I'm sure he won't do the punt return duties ...who does it?? Wheaton or Todman?? Also do we dress Sammie Coates??

Oh, oh, Forgot about the punt duties. Didn't Todman do that before with another team?
