They're saying that based on the physical inspection. There's probably some tearing in there that they'll find in the MRI after the swelling goes down a bit.

Yup. No way to know without MRI results.

Better to rest him next week if he's not 100%. We will need him at Denver.

Hper extended knee is usually 2 to 3 weeks, and then it is not 100% for about 4 to 5 weeks. Probably a 80% chance he will not play next week. We'll know for sure tomorrow after MRI.

Can't imagine him being able to play really. Two weeks maybe, but 6 days?

I think that is doubtful at this point. At least based on how much pain he was in right away.

Just been around football for over 60 years, playing, coaching, and seen many hyper ext knees. Sorry but this is what it is, I hate it too.

Saying there's no way to really know until the MRI results and then the team isn't going to put them out there for media consumption. When ever there's trauma like that the tissues are stretched and possibly torn. (Which is what sprains are and why they're assigned grades)

All that said it's going to take some time for the swelling to come down and then the area will be susceptible to injury until fully healed. Unless he's got wolverine healing, he won't be 100%. They'll brace it because if he plants and it's weakened, it can cause further damage.

Batch on Steelers postgame radio show - Bell will not play next week, especially with a short week.

Yeah Bell is a lot of things but a mutant he is not. Although Wolvie is dead now so that's not a very good comparison. LOL. I seriously hope he can play BUT if it means doing even more damage and actually threatening his career I'm all for him sitting win, lose, or draw.

Whether he plays again or not this season, it's a lot better than having a torn ACL.

Harris and Rocky missed the 1976 AFC Championship game against the Raiders. Chuck Noll said he would not risk their careers by playing them injured. Nowadays, we call that the RGIII rule. Sure, we want to win but not at the expense of the future.

It happened a couple of months ago. A hit was put out on him because his healing factor had stopped working and Reed Richards couldn't find a cure to restore it. So Wolvie fought his way to finding out who wanted him dead and it was actually Abraham Cornelius, which was the guy behind the Weapon X program that created him. So then when Wolvie gets there Cornelius was trying to make a better weapon and Wolvie stopped him by sacrificing himself by covering himself in adamantium and dying as he watched one last sunset. Don't worry though. In comics only Gwen Stacy, Thomas and Martha Wayne, and Uncle Ben stay dead. LOL.

Yup. And the Steelers lost that game.

What did the Steelers actually win - games vs NE and Indy next year while the Bengals get the Texans and Bills and the Ravens get the Jags and Dolphins.

I agree though. I'm in favor of keeping Bell on the bench even if it means we lose. If there's a high chance of him getting really injured I say let him sit. He's obviously the future of the franchise and we can't afford to lose him. Look how long it has taken to find him to start with.
