Both got the chance to start. Pickett did well enough to keep the job going into the next season. Rudolph showed that he was nothing more than a backup. Rudolph does have the advantage of being able to stay on the field.

One was a 1st round pick, and got his pay like one, and that should have been enough to see him get more chances, yet he's so bad that the Raiders are thinking of starting A. O'Connell over him.

Guy can't stay healthy. That ended his time with the Steelers and cut short his shot at stepping in with the Eagles last season. It's not like any team wants to start Rudolph, either.

Difference is , I don't think Mason is awesome. I think he's better than Pickett, and Trubisky, and I also think he's better than a injured Rodgers.
I think he should play till Rodgers is healed a bit, and rested more. That's all. If both are rested, and healed, I'd take Rodgers over him, but they aren't.

Pickett did well enough to compete for a job going into the next season

He most certainly did not do enough to keep the job going into the next season

And when he was told he had to compete for a job with Wilson he asked for a trade and ran

I hope that clears up any confusion

Over or under 2 fumbles this week if Aaron Rodgers gets the start?

Is there a Fanduel line on this yet? :)

As best I can tell there is a line on everything in sports. I sit with a family member sometimes and he is betting in game. That is a good one because of AR's wrist. IMO if he starts he won't last the whole game.

I would suspect he got 50% or more

Partly to get ready partly to rest Rodgers arm

Rudolph will play one way or the other today. If Rodgers starts the game i dont think he will finish it, going to end up hurting that wrist more.

Why would I ever want to be a teacher or a sports journalist? I worked as a chemical engineer after my degree from CMU, and am happily retired in Florida. Now I play pickleball, and dabble in stocks, and solve all the worlds problem with fellow retirees by the pool. It doesn't matter how significance Garrett's accusation was in your head. It made national news and was on all sports channel. It was pretty significant in the locker room and more importantly in Rudolph's head. It would be significant in my head as a 23 year old. Anyways that game is a statistical outlier, something you would discard if you know anything about cluster analysis and analysis of variance. This coming game is incredibly important to Mason's career. If he does well, he may start the next game and could have a shot at starter next season. If he doesn't, he will have to fight the backup moniker for rest of his career. Also I have never said Mason was elite but maybe good enough to be the transition guy until they find next Franchise qb. I rather have him than overpaid retreads or over the hill qbs.

Well it's official, Mason gets the start. 8-4-1 as a Steeler, hopefully that good record continues today.

Rodgers got the official W last week because he started and played the whole first half. But yes Mason did a really good job.

There was none, and your fictional version of events doesn't add anything to the discussion.

As a first-round pick, yeah, he showed enough to get a shot the next year. He also had a great preseason. The guy is just too brittle and his confidence is too far gone.

Hate to say it because I was drinking the koolaid going into Kennys second season but hes bad, he’s historically bad. How can anyone still have doubts about that after his performance with the Raiders.

It’s not debatable that Rudolph is better than him at this point and you know how I feel about Rudolph.
