Well well here we are looking forward to next season. Personally I am jacked.

What I would like to see:

NO Way to be back: Tomato Cam Thomas, Antwon "New Toast" Blake.

Bring backs: Brandon Boykin, Bruce Gradkowski, Robert Golden, Ross Cockrell, Will Johnson, Clifton Geathers, DHB.

Unfortunately I believe Kelvin Beachum will be gone as well as Ramon Foster. Willie Gay won't commit and it may be time to move on.

    So what ye think?

I'll consider it a good off season if all they do is get rid of Vick.

I expect Beachem to get more elsewhere than we can offer.

Legursky leaves when Pouncey shows up.

I agree with your bring backs.

I think blake will be back lol but if they are smart they won't. Boykin likely gone, vick too. Beach and foster gone too but I would like for them to keep beach cheap if possible. The other bring backs are spot on.

Mitchell Van Dyk T Steelers ERFA $435,000
Rob Blanchflower TE Steelers ERFA $435,000

    Keep if price is right:
Brandon Boykin CB Steelers UFA $626,367 - like him
Darrius Heyward-Bey WR Steelers UFA $825,000 - I'd not keep Wheaton next year

Jordan Todman RB Steelers UFA $745,000 - decent #4
Ramon Foster LG Steelers UFA $1,833,333 - I'd take two more years so the Defense can be the Draft/FA focus
Ross Cockrell CB Steelers ERFA $510,000 - like him a lot
Sean Spence ILB Steelers UFA $676,345 - only because Timmons had some issues this year
Steve McLendon 34DT Steelers UFA $2,416,667 - as depth. Get a new starter
Will Allen S Steelers UFA $1,050,000 - as depth. Get a new starter
Will Johnson FB Steelers UFA $1,542,000 - if we actually want a FB
William Gay CB Steelers UFA $1,500,000 - still playing reasonably well

    Gay for ~$3M
    Foster, McL for ~$2M
The rest for $1M or less

Since Grads is a free agent and part of this convo, do we keep him or just continue to be 'all-in' on Landry and see how he continues to develop?

If the Front Office really sees a long-term future with Landry, then keep him. However, if he is not the QB of the future, I'd keep Grads.

We have too many other glaring needs. I don't foresee drafting a QB at this point unless a gem just fell in our laps. Personally, I would vote for keeping both Grads and Landry. It always makes me nervous just having two QBs on the roster.

A lot of it depends on what our plan is for the next couple drafts and FA periods. Here's what I think.

    Keep:
McLendon - I like him. No way we're thinking NT in early rounds anytime soon, so we should lock up who we've got.

Cockrell - no brainier here. Solid player and we can't let too many corners leave.

Gay - shouldn't be expensive and is our top option as of now. Can't let him go.

Blake - while this won't be popular, he's an excellent ST player and has a lot of experience on the field. Exactly what you look for in depth corners. Should be CB4 or CB5 next year.

DHB - he did well filling in this year and is good on ST's. Bring him back to camp and see if he wins a spot again. Coates should be WR4, so count on DHB to be in a roster battle again with a clear experience edge.

Golden - assuming Allen is gone, Golden is a fine S3 as the first guy off the bench for both S spots. Has field experience and is the ST captain. He's gonna be back.

Adams - were kinda stuck with him from my understanding since he missed the whole year last year. We may need the depth if Beachum moves on.

Foster - he won't be very expensive and should be brought back no questions asked. Locker room leader. If we insist on upgrading G, then Foster should be brought back as depth. He plays above his pay.

Todman - should be back as the RB3. At least should compete for that spot in camp.

Nelson - injured in camp last year,". He was playing fairly well, so we should bring him back to camp next season.

Warren - if it ain't broke, don't fix it

    Choices to make:

Beachum - are we gonna pay him? Wouldn't hate to see him back, but don't want to over invest in the OL. We have some play makers to pay soon.

Spence/Garvin - we may keep both or neither. Spence has some field experience and Garvin is a good ST player. Depends on how the roster fills out.

Gradkowski - I don't know that he's any better than Jones, but we need to figure out how much we want to spend on back up QB. We either keep both or drop grad and pick up an arm to be QB3.

Johnson/Nix - one has probably got to go. Nix is a better FB and ST guy, but Johnson is more versatile and can play TE or FB. Possibility of keeping Johnson as the TE3 behind Miller and James.

Hubbard - do we like his progress, or start over with a new player from the draft? Idc either way

    See ya:

Allen - too old. Need to get young at the position and upgrade the starting SS position. No reason for him to stick around.

Geathers - oh how we barely knew ye.

    Palmer - sucks

Vick - done. Too old. Get a new QB3.

Legursky - was an injury signing anyways. No reason for him to be here next season.

Thomas - new blood is needed. Would like to see a new DT/DE option brought in.

Stingily - same reasoning as Legursky.

Boykin - we probably won't be in the running for Boykin. He probably feels slighted by us, and if we weren't playing him this past season, why would we give him a decent raise to play next season? Unless something drastic happens at the CB position, I think Boykin is out.

Boykin, Nix, DHB, Warren, and Gay are my must-keep guys.

Mike Vick and Cam Thomas are my only must-goes.

The rest will depend on what they want and what we can afford, although Cockrell should be pretty cheap and he had a ton of playing time this year.

we don't need to let foster or beachum go. both are very solid and we really don't have a replacement for foster on the roster do we? I know some people who spend time with him we he comes back for a visit to Tennessee. I know he loves being a steeler. he cant imagine putting on another uniform

I think that tends to get undervalued, but it counts for a lot. Plus the guy is durable. Would be nice if he lost some weight but I'd welcome him back for his intangibles. Won't be the end of the world if he's gone but he definitely has value here more than anywhere else.

I'm going to say Johnson being inactive when we only had 2 RBs and no FBs healthy says all we need to know when it comes to are they bringing him back or not.
