QB , long snapper that's two. Did he include Sullivan the new cb? We always seem to have 4 qbs in camp and a backup long snapper to have if needed later in the year. They bring them in to get familiar and put them on speed dial if needed.

I'm just gonna go ahead and assume this post was made in jest. Not to be a spoiler at a party, but let's just take a step back and discuss why they used draft picks in the past and why now isn't the appropriate time:

the kicker, punter, and place holder are the only ones on the roster to do those jobs. They have no back-ups. So, when they find a guy they like, expending a late round draft pick ensures they become part of the team. If they wait to sign them as UDFA, there's a chance that the player chooses to sign somewhere else. For other positions, late round draft picks are usually competition for depth, not an intended starter. Should there be RB or ILB they have their eye on, they may risk not drafting them because if they would sign elsewhere, there are plenty others to kick the tires with. In this case, we have Boz. Barring injury to Boz, the K signed will not make the team. Their only need is to do their due diligence and bring in a guy for familiarity should Boz get injured. Hence no need to draft him. I know people get all bent out of shape when the draft the three key special teams players, but as I said, they are the only ones on the roster to do their jobs and the games are often put into their hands to make a play: so draft them and make sure you get the guy you want.

Oh I agree. NE got some ridicule for moving up in the 4th to grab a new PK. I really dont care, NE can get ridiculed for being NE for all I care, lol. It is obvious Boz is our K as they just resigned him and gave him guaranteed money, but at the very least you do want a guy on your call sheet who you know, and hopefully has had some time with your sp. teams and home field. If the PS is still expanded its worth it to keep him around, if not you keep the number ready and hope you never need to call. Its never going to be an exact science, how many K did we go through a couple of years ago when Boz was down.

QBs list has to be pretty slim at this point, IDK if there is a vet, or perhaps they look over XFl/USFL video and see if there is anything there???

IDK, but I cant believe they want to bring 2 rookies into camp. They might, but having a vet at least familiar with the system seems prudent. I mean if it gets that far down the chain your season might be screwed, but seeing the nitemare in 20 I would hope they have some plan in place.

Agreed. Zero chance Connor gets cut. He will be part of the offense, Kenny loves him.

We need the excitement of the draft to settle before any move is made on him. A few days at least, my heart could not stand the screams of joy of millions of steeler fans when the news hits..or is that cries of terror? lol

XFL has a kicker I'd like too see on speed dial if Boz ever got hurt.
