Does anyone know how reputable/disreputable this source is? If it's junk, then my apologies, and please ignore this thread. But I believe people have the right to decide for themselves, so here you go.

    I don't think he'd be a good fit.

Really? For the right money I think he’d be a great fit. The guy has possibly the best instincts in the game.

I think they would prefer a more physical safety that can play in the box if needed. Personally I think it would be ideal to shore up ILB and then have honey badger and Minkah playing high safety

Realistically though I think he is looking for more than they are willing to pay. The longer it goes gives hope though.

As far as the source, the first tweet says it all, although I don't doubt they know what he is looking for.

Money. He will command a lot. If I'm wrong then He's worth it. Can't have 2 safeties making top dollar, and I want 2 keep Minkah.
What say You 2 that??? LoL

The huge, ridiculous salaries were paid last week. The longer he goes unsigned, the lower his price tag goes. He may think he's worth $15 million (I just pulled that number out of my ass, so don't use me as a source) but obviously teams don't.

I am thinking they would do $15 million. For 2 years though.

Please make a smart move and go get him. This is a move that helps you go all the way. He changed the chiefs defense in 2019.

Our defense is probably going to need to make splash plays to win games for the next couple years. Our offense won't be able to outscore the elite AFC teams. Might as well try to sign a playmaker like him if the money isn't too bad.

I dig that . We can`t pay a premium with Minka on deck. But I really like these 2/3 year contracts.

I agree that there are some good safeties in this draft these two years deals are nice but then there will be a lot of holes in two years. We still have to bring some drafted players along the way.

There are lots of Safeties this year's draft.

I'd rather draft or resign Edmunds for cheap.

Edmunds doesnt miss games and has continuity with Minkah. I also think he'll do better if we have improved LB and DL play.

I dont think theyll have the money to sign him but I have seen footage of him playing in the box and rushing the QB. I always thought he was a physical DB. I think most Chiefs fans would agree, but you may have to check out a few Chiefs forums or YouTube vids featuring him to confirm that.

You still have the other side of the draft. Some players may want to wait until after the draft when a team is then totally desperate to fill a need they missed in the draft.

Jayron Kearse just resigned with Dallas. I prefer my Strong Safety to be more on the bigger side like Kearse (6'4" 222lbs) to stop the run and not be a converted CB llke Mathieu (5'9" 174lbs).

How long can the Steelers hold off on pulling the trigger to get Edmunds back? I hope they are keeping in touch with him just in case.

    So.... Kyle Hamilton then?!

He is about as plug n play as one will get I am afraid. Sadly, he is widely regarded as the best player not just within his position but also the entire draft. He is a Top 5 Pick... minimum.

Jaquan Brisker or even Daxton Hill would be the next two up though I doubt Brisker will be in play unless some serious presence by the Steelers Staff head to Penn State.

Kearse got 2/10. As much as I didn't like the Edmunds pick, I'd take him back for the right deal. I think Pittsburgh is just waiting him out. There can't be much of a market for him. TM on the other hand, I'm sure they've spoken to him, and it could happen if his market cools, but I still think he'll get paid more than we want to pay him. It would be fun to get him but I highly doubt it will happen. They have to extend Minkah and there's only so much $ you want to spend on Safeties.

Makes sense when you remember how good Kam Chancellor was with the LOB.

Might not be the fit because Mathieu is kinda known as a freelancer in the secondary. The Steelers already have that in Fitz. They need the stay-at-home partner to go along with Fitz. Not much different than TP and RC.

Two guys freelancing on the same play?!? Yikes!

There any of those out there at the SS position? None that I see outside of Hamilton, who is going top 5.

I like Lewis Cine if they can get him in the 2nd round. His 4.39 40yd time at the combine may not allow that to happen though.

They have him at 6'2" and 200lbs. Put 10 more pounds on him and he could be the next big thing.
