No, but I'm not surprised that he passed. Maybe they are hoping he can't find better and will come back to them, but at this point, that's not a great risk to take.

I’m not completely sold on Tyler Boyd but that’s a fair offer where it wouldn’t upset me if he came here. He had a huge easy dropped TD pass when the Bengals were still fighting for a playoff spot which the bengals ended up losing. I get it. Sometimes that happens but in that moment you have to be clutch. So far I don’t see a whole lot of teams jumping over one another to go get him. That situation may be why.

Your next to last sentence, now offers may have been better and the team situation sucks, it is FA and it takes both sides. That indeed may have been the Steelers off, we will never really know, but the WR market is just like any other. Some guys are incredible and get paid a handsome sum, but the influx of talent coming in from the draft each year makes the market somewhat soft for guys like Boyd. He will eventually be signed, but the longer he waits the number may go down, and substantially from even the number reported.

right player, right price - ALWAYS.

if he wants to fleece someone, have at it.

the greedy pig CAN get slaughtered, so we will watch it unfold.

I'd like to have him here.

but I see he is talking to KC and another good team. We will see what HE wants to do and what other offer him.

and yes, as discussed, over time, the market may move away from him......which is how the greedy pig gets slaughtered.

Typer Boyd would be a welcome addition.
There is some apprehension around the league, he does seem to have over valued his talent.
2 years/$10mil is not a shabby offer. You could always add some 'likely to achieve' incentives to up it.
By the same word, I wouldn't overpay him either.

What does all these top WRs being traded for pennies on the dollar do to the WR market.

Buffallo just traded away Diggs for a 2025 2nd round pick, and they have to eat $31 million in dead cap.

Does this drop the WRs in the draft, knowing you can go out and get a WR like Diggs for a next years 2nd.

Perhaps TB is still miffed the Steelers didn't draft him initially? Other than KP's limited time here, is Hank Poteat the last Pitt guy to have some regular playing time with the Steelers? Pitt players have certainly gone elsewhere and had remarkable careers. Can't think of any others who landed and stayed with Steelers.

The Bills will receive a 2025 second-round pick (via the Minnesota Vikings)
    a 2024 sixth-round pick and
    a 2025 fifth-round pick.

It's the Texans who will be receiving the 5th and 6th round picks, along with Diggs. Bills just get the 2nd.

James Conner, who is still kicking ass in the NFL. Last year over 1,000 yards and a 5.0 YPC.

Steelers are better than anyone for finding great WRs in the middle rounds so I think they are unlikely to spend a fortune on a good veteran WR.

New offence will be run heavy which would make a prima donna WR unhappy too, Pickens might be a problem in time also.

I'd like them to find a good slot WR in the draft before an outside WR though I think it will be more important with the new scheme.

they 'were' and 'have been', but it is now Khan - no longer Colbert. that past is not indicative of the future, and we don't have Ben any longer, who MADE some of those guys great.

We did, by the way, have plenty of FLOPS.

It appears that they did go nuts.

"The Buffalo Bills are trading Diggs to the Houston Texans along with a 2024 sixth-rounder (No. 189) and a 2025 fifth in exchange for a second-round selection in 2025, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Wednesday."

You mean Omar could not come up with a 2025 second? Diggs is a 1000 yd rec'r....
He is 30, so maybe its a bit of a knee jerk reaction on my part.
In essence they turned a 2025 5th into a 2025 2nd.... got rid of a 30 year old guy and lost only a 6th rd pick.

Thank you. I was going through the litany of Pitt RBs that had great success in the NFL and James escaped me. :thumbs up:

Yeah, I'm thinking Khan should have been in on that one.

Losing a second round pick and paying Diggs would have been a bad move IMO. I think he has slipped a bit and hasn't exactly been a model teammate lately. Glad Omar passed.

Possibly Khan who just got rid of a head case didn't want to add another one

    The guy is a playmaker.
But he's going to a good QB so, our loss.

If you notice a trend this year, it is most trades are going out of conference.

And as I keep pointing out $31 million in Dead Cap money this year.

Buffalo's WR priority, just like the Steelers has jumped in the 2024 draft.

The Dead CAP money some teams are willing to eat, especially over one player is amazing. He still was a very productive R, maybe to much pain in the butt, but that's over 10% of the CAP gone.

I guess Mike Tomlin is a trend setter in the NFL

Now, no team wants no hostages.

They all be like John Wayne fighting cancer.

It is very odd that they decided to do this.
But I do understand after talking with my Buffalo guy, there were some issues.
With our QBs, he would be disgruntled. Not a good fit.
With CJ, he should be happy.
