I've been a fan for 40 years, and I can't agree with your doom and gloom of this current Steelers team. This isn't the 70's anymore and building a team today is VERY different than it once was. This year's team is one of the most talented offensive teams in league and they know it. THAT IMO is the problem, not them being overrated. I think they've bought into their own hype and think they can just show up and score 30.

I believe this team still has a SB run in them, THIS year. I feel sorry that you've lost all faith in a team that you clearly love. But this type of attitude seems to be very prevalent around here. I'm not saying this applies to you, but I honestly think that there are those around here that just need to be unhappy with this team.

I dunno, man. Look at the non-superstars from those teams that happen to be in the Hall of Fame.

    Joe Greene
    Jack Ham
    Mel Blount
    Terry Bradshaw
    Franco Harris
    Jack Lambert
    Mike Webster
    Lynn Swann
    John Stallworth

    Not to mention Coach Noll.

I remember Bubby Brister calling the Steelers defense "soft and cheesy" back in 1986. I am guessing that Ben won't go that route but he has to be frustrated. The D is just abysmal and I can't see how there is a quick fix out there anywhere.
