RIP Tunch. Had the pleasure of meeting him a few times as a teen. May he RIP and hopefully he's grabbing an Iron City with Myron.

Most Steeler fans don't know that his mother was an international beauty that won the Miss Turkey pageant and competed in the Miss Universe pageant.

RIP Tunch, he was a warrior on the field but an even bigger warrior for Christ off of it. Truly a man's man and role model. Thanks for the good conversations. Blessed to know you are now with the Lord.

By the way, if you have a chance to listen to the below, its a great interview. Tunch made such a huge impact on so many lives through his outreach, ministry and his involvement in mens groups. He will be sorely missed. I'm so bummed.

RIP big guy. I remember meeting him a few times. He got a contract and unlike most guys that go out and buy a fancy car, old tunch drove to the games in his old suburban, and I mean old suburban. It look like it should have been towed from the players parking area. Such a down to earth guy.

Met him at a charity walk a few years ago, big friendly very funny guy who lived his faith. If there was any event that benefitted anyone less fortunate than him, chances are that Tunch was there and lent his support. He did not sound quite right on the broadcasts when I last heard him, and I knew something was amiss but did not know what.

    Rest easy big guy.

Tunch might be better off. His family and loved one's probably not so much. Only time can heal.

RIP. Seems so quick. I remember when hearing he got diagnosed with ALS - didn’t seem like much more than a year ago. His speech was getting worse on broadcasts last year by mid season. So sad!

Just saw the story elsewhere and didn't know it just happened. Very sad news for Steeler Nation. Very brave man to be able to work so long with his affliction. RIP my man.

Once he announced his retirement from the broadcast booth I felt his battle was becoming harder and harder.

    RIP Tunch.

Good player, really good radio guy, better man.

I'll miss the stories he and Wolf told about the old days under Noll.
