Sounds more and more like Tuiit is done ..From a purely selfish standpoint ,it sucks because he's so good, and he'll really be missed but...

    I hope he finds peace

Could also just mean he is moving to a new location in Pittsburgh but it does make you wonder.

Butler commented on Tuitt in an interview recently and sounds like they are in the dark almost as much as us fans are. They are just trying to be respectful of what he is going through.

I kind of get the feeling he may be done with football though.

Either way, I just hope the team knows and can plan accordingly.

So, if he quits, how does that effect the cap number?

Sucks but you can’t eat another year of his salary again.

I know he is married but can't remember if he has young children. If not if he is still hurting then a move closer to home might help, especially if it is a close family as it appears. Hope it helps.

Sucks because when He played He was great, and it also sucks because that puts us in an even deeper hole.
Lots of people are saying ....well when Alualu (who has missed 20 games in 2 years, and is another year older), and Tuitt comeback we'll be fine up front. Yeah whatever. LoL.

Cam isn’t no spring chicken either. This year probably took a year or 2 off his career.

I think Cam still has a few more good years as long he doesn’t suffer an injury but no way in hell can you count on Tyson or Tuitt. They are both done

They have kept his situation more secret than any famous athlete ever. What the heck happened? The unibomber didn’t have that kind of privacy before going to prison.

I think it’s pretty clear. His brother was killed and it emotionally devastated him. He was out of football shape and possibly had some minor knee procedure but mentally he was never in playing football mode and I don’t think he ever will again.

If he is cut pre-1st June : 9.6 million dead cap, 4.2 million savings

If he is cut post 1st June: 4.9 million dead cap, 9 million savings

Cam is 32, playing remarkable fir his age, but father time catches up with every one..and at that age rather quickly. He likely only has a year or two left anyway.

If he's cut or traded pre-June 1 then it's 9.6mm in dead money and a 4.3mm cap savings
If he's cut or traded post-June 1 then it's 4.9mm in dead money and 9.0mm in cap savings

Agree. Prioritize what’s most important for him. He’s probably in the fortunate position where money is not an issue.

After Butlers comments and now this I think it is quite possible that he takes a break from football, if he doesn’t retire altogether. Hope he can sort out his issues.

If he is not available in 2022 then DL is now yet another big need in the draft.

His whole situation is very peculiar. There is no way the team would have restructured his deal last August if they suspected that he wasn’t coming back. What has happened between then and now? I get that he had a personal tragedy but surely the team was staying in touch with him and supporting him any way they could.

The DL is already a priority, even if he does come back. Heyward is 32 and Alualu is 34
