    Wtf

season 1 is amazing. I try not to think about season 2
It’s an anthology so missing a season or watching them out of order is perfectly fine.

Season 1 deserves all the praise. Excellent acting, compelling characters, with a creepy and mysterious plot.

Season 2 was a swing and a miss. I honestly can't even remember what it was about. Utterly forgettable.

Season 3 was pretty good. No where near as good as the first, but way better than the second.

I wonder if the reception for season 2 would be different had it come first. After season 1 the bar was set so high it was all but guaranteed season 2 would fall flat

Maybe it was perceived worse because of that. But it still was dull.

Season 1 hands down the best! Amazing job by Woody H. and Matthew M. I think I told you about this in my post about the show. IMO season 2 sucked balls. Season 3 decent. Season 4 has an amazing actress starring, Jodie Foster. I'm pumped for this season.

If you dig Quentin Tarantino type stuff you may enjoy Fargo on FX/Hulu. Season 5 is very cool with the right mind set;)

I liked seasons 1-4 of Fargo but my wife not so much

Elaborate a little more please on “the right mindset” before I try to convince my wife to watch

Have you not figured out what I enjoy?

Regardless what I enjoy season 4 just sucked for me. I'm guessing your lady didn't enjoy any Quentin Tarantino movies. Season 5 would be tough on a woman, hell I fast forwarded some parts of the abuse to females. IMO a ton of cool moments in Season 5 and a few amazing characters. Season 1 and 2 were best IMO and now 5 joins them.

My wife does not watch anything I watch. Only TV show she watches is some 60's show set in London where nuns assist delivering babies. Name escapes me. My advise to you, get a buzz and go in the other room and get into Fargo Season 5.

What did you think of first show? I liked it and think this will be best season since Season 1.

Just got around to watching the first 2 episodes of season 4.

And immediately get hit with the (almost confirmed) fan theory that Travis is Rust Cohle's father.

Rust says his father's name was Travis. He was a "survivalist" in Alaska. And he had Leukemia. Someone said he was referred to as "Travis Cohle" but I don't remember hearing that.

Still, if true, it's the first solid connection between seasons. Red herring? Or will it mean something?

Yeah. But up until now, I figured it for an Easter egg. With Travis connected to Rust, now I'm wondering where the overall arc of ALL seasons combined will lead.

Kind of like how American Horror Story seemed like individual story seasons... until they weren't.

I went back to the scene with Rose. She 100% calls him Travis Cohle. As for AHS I haven’t watched in several seasons.

Well just finished Season 4 and it gets a big fat, meh.

Better then season 2-3 but no where near season 1. Glad it was only 6 episodes.

I thought the first few episodes were great, but it fell off towards the end. It’s almost as if they were nearing their budget limit and wrapped it up instead of fleshing it out a bit more. Overall it was good, but not great

What a completely disappointing season. They had so much potential built up and did nothing with it.

I know some people are upset about the answer to who did it (talking about the male victims that start the story. Not Annie K) and how. I don't care about that. It's in keeping with the internal logic of the show. It just felt like they could have done far more.

And if you're going to go in some sort of supernatural route, lean into it! Don't just tease it and say, "well, some think it might be this way, but who knows?"

What was the point of constantly calling back to season 1? No. Really. What was the damned point? After the whole season is done, it feels like pandering. Oh, remember this cool thing you loved? We'll mention it but it'll have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the story. But boy, will we keep hammering it. "Time is a flat circle." At that point, I just wanted to scream, "Oh, @$#! off!"

The season should have been 10 episodes. That story needed to be fleshed out much more.
