To those who say Trubinski has a better resume than Rudolph have not watched him in Chicago. I lived in West Michigan and used to get Bears game, plus they played Detroit twice a year. Unlike Pittsburgh, Bears at the time had a decent running game, OL and defense. Trubinski couldn’t hit a simple 5 yard out on a regular basis. His accuracy and decision making were worse than Kordell. One game against Detroit at home was so bad that the fans revolted. He supposedly improved in Buffalo during preseason but that was a mirage as we found out during his losing spree in Pittsburgh as Pickett outplayed him. Steelers management is to blame for signing this stiff and I suspect Canada had input as he’s enamored with ‘running’ qb. I can almost guarantee that Tomlin’s streak of non losing season comes to an end with Trubisky remaining qb.

That's a great idea. Could be a long game and I have to get my uniform on in a minute or two to depart and prepare for #1 draft pick (brew that is). Today could be one of those days where I get more than the allotted 7 draft picks. I had to throw in a challenge flag last week because they put my #1 draft pick down in front of me with over an inch of foam in it. That dog won't hunt today. Lets get after the Panters.

maybe a few shy. But you’re a keg short if Mason plays.

I'd rather watch paint dry than watch Trubisky play. He's so incredibly dull, no charisma or energy like Kenny or even Mason.

Trubisky won. Steelers offense is the least of our worries. The D is a complete trainwreck against the better teams.

With all that, his resume entering this season was still better than Rudolph's. That is inarguable among the sane.

All he has is a longer resume with more failures. Rudolph has an asterisk as he was completely different after he got knocked unconscious. Also he had no OL or running game when he was leading the Steelers. Not even Tom Brady could have succeeded that year with Canada as Offensive Coordinator and no OL or RB...and fairly weak receiving core.

Trubisky has a season as a quality NFL starter. He had a terrible offense around him in Chicago, too. I'm not saying he is good. He isn't, but he is a much more accomplished player than Rudolph.

Also, Canada wasn't the offensive coordinator in 2019. It helps your argument if you get the details right.

Much as I dislike Trubisky, he did a good job yesterday. Glad he's not permanent!

Not true. In Trubisky best year they had the top 3 Defense, and a top 5, or 6 running game. It's the only reason Trubisky looked even somewhat average.
While when Mason played We were like below 20 in our running game....,and He still won games. Imagine how well Mason would have done with the top 5, or 6 running game.

partly true. yes, the D sucks, 4+ new starters next year.

Trubs played better - he loves him some Diontae, that is for sure. He is more decisive with his passing, I hope Kenny watched and SAW that guy are open. OLINE run blocking better and better each week, except for crap-fest vs the Ratbirds last week.

I wrote that he had a terrible offense around him. That they had a great defense that year is irrelevant to that statement.

The Bears were 11th in the NFL in rushing yards in 2018, Trubisky's best season, and that was with 421 yards by Trubisky. If he had closer to 150 yards rushing, around average for an NFL quarterback that season, that would have put them in the bottom half of the league in rushing.

The Steelers' running game in 2020 is not relevant to this discussion because Rudolph only started one game that season, the finale against the Browns. They did have a poor rushing attack in 2019, the year he briefly took over for Roethlisberger before suffering the concussion and then, after returning, being benched, but that wasn't the year you mentioned.

People like you keep trying to give Rudolph credit for what you think he might have done. It doesn't work that way. Look at what he has done, which is very little.

If the HC listens to Diontae, this team would consistently take one step forward and two steps back; like DJ’s yards after catch

Rudolph has only played for the flawed Matt Canada, Trubisky has played for multiple OC's with the same poor inconsistent results. so it seems the steelers are replacing one backup with another backup at twice the cost.
