A little bit of fun with stats: postseason comparison

    Mitchell Trubisky
2 games, passer ratings of 89.6 and 96.8 (92.5 overall)
    62.5% completions, 2 TDs, 0 ints

    Lamar Jackson
    4 games, passer ratings 78.8, 63.2, 74.8, 61.5 (68.3 overall)
    55.9% completions, 3 TDs, 5 ints

Edit - I’ll add 1 more thing: Lamar will probably cost his team a $40 million/year extension, Mitch can probably be picked up for less than $10 million for next season.

I completely agree with pretty much everything you said. I probably don't follow the bears as much as you but I've seen them enough and live in a area surrounded by bear fans to talk football with. The coaching especially on the offensive side has been atrocious. Their o-line is terrible and even golden boy Brady wouldn't have been able to do anything behind it the last 3 or 4 years.

Bringing in another QB who hasn't lived up to their draft potential doesn't make a lot of sense if we already have two QBs on the roster who others already feel haven't lived up to their draft potential. Bringing in Mariota or Winston brings back nightmares of bringing in Kent Graham.

    Here’s some more stats.

    Jackson TD’s
    84 passing
    21 rushing

    Trubisky TD’s
    64 passing
    9 rushing

    Highest season QBR
    Jackson 83.0
    Trubisky 71.0

    Lowest season QBR
    Jackson 42.6
    Trubisky 32.4

Last season Jacksons had a game in which he passed for 400+ yards, 4 TD’s ran for just 62 yards. They focused on taking the run away and he threw all over them. The Jackson can’t pass narrative is overblown.

Yep, he had “a” game. To be clear, I agree that Jackson can have great games from time to time. He has tons of natural talent and that talent definitely shows through on occasion. The reason that I wouldn’t be comfortable with Jackson or a Jackson clone as our QB is that I don’t think he’s able to put enough good passing games together against postseason competition to make it past the 1st round, or maybe the 2nd round in a blue moon if the rest of his team plays lights out. For that reason I am concerned each time that we face Jackson in a single regular season game because he can blow up on any given Sunday, but not terribly concerned about having to watch the Ravens win a SB with him at the helm. I am much, much, much more concerned about Burrow on both counts. He’s the best QB in our division, and 2nd place is not even close.

That game You are talking about was a blow out, and the Defense went prevent(stupidly).
I guess that only counts with Ben since people say He only did good in the 2nd half of games because teams let Him.

What are you talking about, it was 10-3 at the half with Ravens trailing. Final score was the Ravens winning 31-25.

You have a funny definition of blow out.

I'd go with Brissett over Tribusky.

This is what I've been complaining about with our OC. I freaking hate designed rollouts. You automatically take half the field away. I've been complaining about this since Canada took over.
Doesn't matter what Qb you have if it's the play design.

Trubisky can’t read defences and he will make mistakes but he is better than Mason and the other FA QB’s available. He is not a franchise QB but he can be a 1-2 year bridge while they rebuild the roster, that should be the height of anybody's expectations.

You are spot on in your assessment of Jackson. You are also completely on point if you substituted the name Jackson with Trubisky in each and every sentence.

I have your same concern about Burrow also but unless they get him an Oline he will not make it through many seasons.

Ok… you’re fixated on a college QB who takes all but 1 receiver out of every play, and you post this?

You do realize there are varying degrees of “not the guy,” right? I want to win as many games as possible while trying to find the next guy. I have zero confidence in Rudolph or Haskins. Trubisky was not all bad on Chicago, and may be pretty productive in an offense that includes a lot of RPOs (we led the league in RPO passes more than 3 yards downfield last year).

We just see things differently. No biggie.
IMO if your not that guy....You're not that guy,and if Mason, and or the rest don't work any better....Well that's just closer 2 a High draft pick, but I have more faith 2 be honest .
I really don't have any Qb coming out this year graded that much Higher than Mason. Now next year is a different story. Remember. JMO

Different with designed roll outs, and rolling out 2 buy time. I don't mind that. I hate designed ones. It cuts your opinions. That's why it is usually used on rookies, or the college game.

Whaa? You think Ben didn’t run any design roll outs?

The Trubisky tweet was more of an indictment of him and not the play design.

Because Colbert said they will bring 4 QBs to camp, I don't mind them spending 10 million a year or less on a QB for some competition, Colbert also said Mason won't be handed the starting job.

Yeah when He was a rookie, and His 2nd year, and after Canada came. In-between....not very much at all. He did role out 2 buy time.
