Many have thought that Troy has hard feelings towards the team over how his career ended but that’d not the case. Good to see.

Good to hear. How lucky we all were to witness his entire spectacular career. Closest thing to a human with super hero capabilities.:dfense::steelflag:

Glad to hear this. Having been a Steelers fan since the late 70s, Troy is definitely one of my all-time favorite Steelers, and I'm glad to know he still has a good relationship with the organization.

This is great to hear. It sure seemed like there was some resentment at first. If that's true I am glad he's past that. The guy is a legend.

I'm glad things are good between him and the team now. I do remember reading that he thought it wasn't his time to retire and he harbored some ill will but eventually came to the conclusion that yes, it was a good time to move on. I'm sure his competitiveness clouded things at the beginning as that probably happens with most pro athletes. I'm sure over time he took a more objective view of it.

Definitely one of my all time favorites and what a joy to watch.

Thing is, unless it came from Troys mouth, who’s to say those reports were accurate but I agree, it’s good to see there are no hard feelings.

I don't think Troy is an angry person, some people just have no problem letting it go.

See Jack Lambert.. he didn't return to TRS or Heinz very often after he retired.

I think Troy is a person about life and enjoys life, football is part of life so therefore he likes football, but it's not everything.

He will tell you that I'm sure.

He was interviewed this a.m. on The Fan. His considerable skill on the football field is outclassed by his humility, intelligence and joy as a person. He a treasure to all of Steeler Nation, someone every Steeler should attempt to emulate. I'm very proud of him, always have been.

I been watching/listening to a bunch of "A football life" on YouTube while at work and I find it strange how we as fans view the players and coaches that the Steelers have had over the years. In Bradshaw's episode he talked about avoiding Noll's funeral because he isn't a funeral person, he doesn't like them, just doesn't. Had nothing to do with their relationship. In Noll's episode they showed the book release on a Noll biography in which the author was there, Tunch, Rocky and Ham(I think) were doing a Q&A and the author was asked about Terry and he replied he had conducted x amount of interviews for the book and Bradshaw was the only one to turn him down. Kinda continuing that storyline of tension between Bradshaw and Noll.

Now contrast that with the story someone on here told about Lambert not attending Noll's funeral. I think it was Chuck's but in any case he didn't participate but showed up and sat in his truck outside the church and got one of the players to bring the widow over to his truck so he could pay his respects. That story doesn't get the same negative spin that Bradshaw-Noll does.

For starters Lambert still went and paid his respects to Nolls widow and secondly, there was never any bad blood between Lambert and Noll, so it wouldn’t get the same negative attention.

There’s no question Bradshaw had resentment for Noll, he indicated as much. As Noll’s documentary said, he didn’t even hug his own children and his tough love style just wasn’t for TB.

I'll expect to see him at the 60th SB when they have a player from each team that has won a SB.

QB and Head Coach, different than the Head Coach and ILB relationship, I think Terry just never appreciated how hard Chuck was on him, he felt singled out, even Rocky Blair, Andy Russell, Joe Greene will say how hard Noll was on Bradshaw.

1970-1974 was not good times for Bradshaw, and I don't think he ever forgot about it. Noll was hard on him, fan base was really hard on him, he wanted traded, I think he feels that Art SR was the only guy in his corner that believed in him. Terry loved Art Sr.

Terry said he just wanted Noll to come up and put his arm around him and tell him it was going to be OK. Noll just wasn't like that. I feel that Terry feels that, no matter how good he could do it , he was never going to be good enough for Chuck.
Much like a father son relationship, where the kid can never satisfy the dad with his accomplishments, some Dads are supportive, some are hard to please.

But Terry will acknowledge that Chuck made him tough.

I think part of is that Chuck was around Johnny Unitas in Baltimore and he thought, Terry should be like Johnny Unitas, and you can see the personality of Terry is one of a kind, and I think Chuck just didn't think he was taking it all seriously all the time, as was too much of a goof. Johnny U was Mr. Football, and all about football all the time (Hard to believe the Steelers cut him LOL)

I think it was just two different personalities between the two, and even though the had much success the relationship wasn't very buddy-buddy at all.

That's what I'm getting at Blast. Because of the documented history between Noll and Bradshaw it's easy for us as fans to go yeah Terry is being a dick and view it that way.

I remember the first couple of years after Troy retired he had other commitments that kept him away from the team and it was easy for us to say yeah he is ticked off at how his career ended and maybe there was a small part that was but I honestly don't think the man has a malicious bone in his body and it is just the way he says it was.

Happy to hear it as well.... though I was not among those who thought he had much ill will in the first place. Ed Bouchette is actually among the major voices who started that gossip train years after Troy's retirement.
