Whew! That saves a ton of embarrassment and classy organization posts. Until the "real" story comes out! LOL

Seriously though this man probably won't be missed much in the play on the field as he will in the organization as stability and calm demeanor. Wish him well in his retirement and hope he finds as much success!

I had the steelers trading up in 03 to draft Troy in a mock draft on the old board, one of the very few times I got the first round draft pick right, Ben was a no brainer the following year but with the clowns drafting ahead of us it was iffy if Ben would be there: Back to Troy, he had one of his greatest games in college towards the end of his senior year at USC in a game against Notre Dame where he single handedly destroyed NDs offense and moved him up in the draft based off of that game, thanks for the memories Troy, few players know when it's time to quit...........

Great player in his prime and even a better person. Best wishes to your future and your family. Among the Steeler greats, you will be missed and talked about for years to come.:applaud::applaud::applaud::applaud::applaud:

"Troy is a shining example of a football man in the way he loved the game, the way he respected the game, and the way he played the game... He is a legendary Steeler and a legendary man." _Mike Tomlin

I know it's extremely rare for us to "retire" a number and I don't expect us to do that for him but I DO expect the number 43 to not be issued again for a REALLY long time. If ever.

    :this!:

I think it`s safe to say, I will be buried in the ground, before another Pittsburgh Steeler wears that number...

If they do, Damn, I can`t wait to see the one that can live up to his legacy!!!:herewego::steelflag::herewego!:

It won't be the same without #43 out there. I have a ton of redirect and appreciation for what he has done but his time has come.

I agree it is rare but I think with what they did with Mean Joe it was done to open the door for more to come. I think you will see the 43 retired in the not so distant future but who knows.

This may be the first praise you have ever given Tomlin :lolol:

I agree though, it was well said.
