I thought it was bizarre as well. Obviously he is not faking it, but at first glance, that is what it looked like. The years of Troy's hard play have caught up to him.

No need to apologize for that, TE, we've come to expect that from you around here. :D

These are nagging type injuries that do not heal quickly. I'd bet it will be at least another 4 weeks before he can play.

I do agree that his injury status is becomming an increasing problem. His style of play simply points to increased injuries with age. I doubt the Steelers would let him go, but I'm sure a safety will be on the draft list for next year.

Now, I would be more worried about Woodley than Troy. Woodley is in the same boat, but his problem is the same as last year. Hamstring. Another problem that is not easily overcome. Once you injure you hamsting, scar tissue builds up around the hamstring and it only gets worse from there. Trust me, my son lost his running career due to a hamstring that would not heal and needed surgery. Dawson retired from the Steelers due to a hamstring that would not heal.

So, right now, I'm more concerned with Woodley since his injury seems more serious. Troy will get better, but it will be a long road and then he will be out of game shape.

Yes. I posted something like this in the game thread. If he is always hurt we need to ship him off. Actually what I said was "Ed Reed gets hurt and he has three interceptions. Troy gets hurt he gets splinters in his ass"

Troy may be done, I hope not, and I don't think he is, but he may be and that's unfortunate.

But I don't for a second question his desire to play. Jack Lambert's career ended due to turf toe, and nobody would question his desire. When Troy has been on the field he's never given less than 100%, not that I can recall. Timmons, Woodley, Hampton; they take plays/games off, they disappear at times. Troy has never done that. I can not question his desire to play.

He may not be able to play anymore, but it ain't for lack of want.

I don't question his desire either. I do question his skills now. His injury is holding the team back. He has been banged up parts of three years now. Don't think he has been 100% since 2008 Superbowl, and it costs the team
